Christmas at Frankfurt Airport: Gift cards, shopping, dining and much more

December 4, 2019 by PressEditor

During the weeks before Christmas, the terminals at Frankfurt Airport are incandescent with the glow of thousands of lights. Like every year, shops and restaurants invite guests to go on an extensive shopping tour while taking advantage of attractive bargains and yuletide culinary creations. Major international brands mingle with regional and “typical German” products. Small but exquisite owner-run boutiques are interspersed with startlingly innovative shops that would be hard to find anywhere else.

The airport’s Visitor Service has come up with a very special gift idea: an “experience gift card” that entitles bearers to immerse themselves in the fascination of the airport. The card can be purchased for any amount starting at seven euros. It can be used for one of the many different airport tours, for the Visitors’ Terrace, or for making purchases in the shop run by the Visitor Service, which carries a wide range of unusual articles and souvenirs that delight aviation fans of all ages (they can naturally also be bought in the usual way). The gift cards are available for downloading from www.FRA-Gutscheine.com, and you can print them out yourself along with a personalized greeting. They can also be bought in the “FRA Airport Tours & Shop” in the departures hall of Terminal 1 or at the entrance to the Visitors’ Terrace.

Last-Minute Home Shopping

If you prefer to shop from the comfort of your home or hotel, you’ll find lots to choose from in the Frankfurt Airport Online Shop. At Christmas time there is a gift finder that provides tips on what to give her or him or children and suggests electronic products, sweets and other foods and much more for any budget. Frankfurt Airport is also ideal for last-minute shopping and purchases: the shops and restaurants are open on all holidays―on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Even until 6 p.m., and on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day starting as early as 9 a.m.

Passengers and visitors can find more information on the wide range of services available at Frankfurt Airport by visiting its website, service shop, or Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube social media pages.

Guam Visitors Bureau: Over 200 offers available in eighth year of Shop Guam e-Festival

November 8, 2019 by PressEditor

The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) is proud to announce that 142 local businesses are taking part in the eighth annual Shop Guam e-festival, providing 208 special offers to island residents and visitors. The GVB signature event launches on Thursday, November 10, 2019, and will run through Thursday, February 10, 2019.

“With over 200 exclusive offers every year from our local businesses, everyone can take part in the Shop Guam e-Festival, for free,” said GVB President and CEO Pilar Laguaña. “Shop Guam is the only campaign that our industry stakeholders can promote their products and services across our diverse source visitor markets. We encourage everyone to download the free app and take advantage of the different experiences and deals, especially during the holiday season.”

Inspired by Airbnb’s Experience Marketplace, GVB is also inviting all aspiring businesses or talents to host an event or experience through Shop Guam.

“Our most significant new focus this year is to bring Shop Guam into the 19 districts and 24 villages across Guam,” said GVB Director of Global Marketing Nadine Leon Guerrero. “We are actively recruiting small village vendors and entrepreneurs to be a part of Shop Guam. It supports GVB’s ongoing effort to extend tourism outside of Tumon and create an impact for Guam’s community at large.”

Shop Guam Ambassadors to promote e-Festival

Seven social media influencers from China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan are on the island this week to help boost the awareness of the e-Festival launch. These ambassadors, chosen by GVB, have over 2.6 million followers, across different social media platforms that include Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, YouTube, Weibo, and Naver. They will also have a more immersive community experience hosted by some of Guam’s aspiring local talents. The 2019 Shop Guam e-Festival influencers are Po Yan (Hong Kong), So Hee Nam (Korea), Ayaka Kawaguchi (Japan), Karen Okajima (Japan), Peter Su (Taiwan), Ruo Guam Nian Hua (China) and An Lan (China).

Upcoming promotional features

The Shop Guam mobile app will continue to be the primary marketing toolkit to help GVB to promote our local attractions and offers. Since GVB launched the Shop Guam mobile app, it has achieved just nearly 200,000 total user downloads. The app will again come with the iBeacon Bluetooth enabled proximity marketing technology and QR Code to send push notifications to the app users when they are near a participating merchant. GVB is also producing social media micro-videos featuring all the merchants and their offers in the campaign throughout GVB’s global social media network, including GVB’s Instagram Stories and TikTok China channel.

Evolution of Shop Guam

The Shop Guam e-Festival began in 2012 with only 10 merchants and has now connected with more than 962 merchants promoting to global markets and tourists. The campaign has attracted 2.2 million visitors to Guam with the ability to reach GVB’s top source markets through innovative marketing technology.

The Shop Guam e-Festival mobile app received the 2017 Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award for the best mobile app category. In addition, the Shop Guam campaign supported GVB’s historic recognition as the first tourism office in the United States to win the prestigious President’s “E” Award for tourism export excellence.

For more information, contact GVB’s Shop Guam e-Festival liaison Robbie Gerrie S.N. Bautista at [email protected] or call (671) 797-9900.

Thomas Cook selling its travel business: Chinese investment fund interested

April 22, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

Thomas Cook is the world’s oldest tour operator and was founded in Market Harborough in 1841 by businessman Thomas Cook. It started off with organized railway outings for members of the local temperance movement.

The travel company received approaches for parts of its business and the company as a whole, according to reports. The business put its airline up for sale in February and it said last month it would close 21 stores across the country and cut more than 300 jobs.

Chinese investment firm Fosun International could be a bidder for the company’s tour operating business, which runs a joint venture with Thomas Cook in China. It could be months before any formal offer is lodged, and there is no guarantee one will be made.

Thomas Cook now has annual sales of £9bn, 19 million customers a year and 22,000 staff operating in 16 countries.

In September, Thomas Cook said profits would be hit after the summer heat wave saw many take their holidays in the UK. It issued a second profit warning in November, when it said winter bookings were also down.

The shop closures will take the number of Thomas Cook outlets down to 566. It said a consultation with staff and unions had begun.

“Best Worscht in Town” brings a currywurst buffet to Frankfurt Airport

April 15, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

rankfurt Airport is about to gain yet another culinary highlight: “Best Worscht in Town”, a German fast food chain that has achieved cult status, is opening its first airport restaurant. From humble beginnings as a family-run sausage stand that opened in Frankfurt in 1970, it has blossomed into an international franchise.

The menu embraces a wide variety of currywurst specialties for every taste. For the unitiated: currywurst, allegedly invented in Berlin after WW II, has traditionally consisted of steamed and then fried sausage that is typically cut into bite-sized chunks, smoothered with curry-flavored ketchup, and then sprinkled with even more curry powder.

“Best Worscht in Town” has gone a step further, however, to create a veritable currywurst El Dorado that not only meets the expectations of those who love the classic variety with pork or beef sausage, but also features delicious nonmeat versions for vegans and fans of organic products. Those who love spicy foods are also fully catered to: patrons can use a “Spiciness Meter” to choose any level from A for mild to F for eye-poppingly intense (“not for softies!” warns the menu).

The staff, dubbed “Worscht Dealers”, are more than willing to make recommendations to guests wishing to experiment. The many kinds of currywurst are served with French fries or freshly baked German-style sourdough bread. Chocolate milk, a traditional remedy for alleviating hot chili overdoses, is also available.

The “Best Worscht in Town” outlet is located in Terminal 1 in the Airport City Mall in Concourse A, one level above the regional train station at Frankfurt Airport. It will be open between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Around 70 restaurants serve passengers and visitors daily at Frankfurt Airport. More information on the wide range of services available there can be found on the airport’swebsite, in its Service Shop, and on its Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube social media pages.

Driving in the 10 most-visited cities in Mauritius

April 12, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

While there are many ways to get around Mauritius, car rentals remain a popular option. From visits to quant villages to coastal drives, to visiting cultural attractions and, of course, shopping, getting there by car is the most convenient way to enjoy a trip to Mauritius on your own time.

Pingouin Car Rental is a top car rental company based out of SSR International Airport, making it convenient to hop off the plane and into your car.

At Pingouin Car Rental, customer experience is top priority, and the cost of rental will make your pocketbook very happy. Imagine driving a Mini Cooper, BMW or Kia Sportage around the island, and there’s much more to choose from. And with Pingouin Car Rental, rental is conveniently done online via secured payment processing. Watch how easy it is to rent a car at the airport with Pingouin Car Rental.

Aerial View S.S.R int. Airport

Listen to what customer Richard Mattison has to say about his experience: “I have booked a car online will full payment. On arrival, i had only to present my voucher and the excess amount was blocked. Within three minutes, i was already on my way to my hotel. I advise everyone to pay the 100% online for a swift car delivery. The agents are professional and very responsive. I will not hesitate to book again with Pingouin Car Rental.”

So, get ready to explore Mauritius on your next holiday – it is an island of plenty: plenty of gorgeous beaches, cultural attractions, nature walks, and shopping centers. If you’re visiting on a leisurely vacation, you may want to spend some time exploring at least a few of the island’s ten most visited cities by car.

Plaine Magnien City

Holiday Inn Hotel at Plaine Magnien

Located in southeast Mauritius, Plaine Magnien is a quaint village and home to Mauritius’ only airport: SSR International Airport.

When you arrive on the island, you will first set foot in Plaine Magnien. And this is where we will be waiting for you with the car of your choice that you can drive to your hotel.

With Pingouin Car Rental, you can just check-in online and prepay your rental. They have a pretty large range of rental vehicles, so you can choose one you’re most familiar and comfortable driving. In case of assistance, our 24/7 support team is here for you.

Although there is not much to do in Plaine Magnien, it is of strategic importance. If you’re planning to stay a day or two here, you can visit Tamarind Falls or popular attractions near the village, such as Flic En Flac Beach, Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, La Plantation De Saint Aubin and Caudan Waterfront.

Île aux Cerfs City

Ile aux Cerfs

Île aux Cerfs or Deer Island is a privately-owned island near the island’s east coast. It lies off Trou d’Eau Douce, Mauritius’ largest lagoon and is made of nearly 100 hectares of land.

While its name pays homage to the deer herds that used to inhabit the island, their numbers have decreased and today, visitors and locals come here for wonderful beach experiences.

Relax at a white, sandy beach or indulge in water sports, which range from water skiing to riding in glass bottom or banana boats. Snorkelling is also a popular activity at the beautiful coral reef teeming with rich marine life. If you’re a golfing enthusiast, you can tee off at the island’s 18-hole golf course offering splendid views of the lagoon and emerald waters of the Indian Ocean. After you have worked

up an appetite, stop by at one of the many diverse restaurants, although we recommend trying one that features the local cuisine on its menu.

Blue Bay City

Ile aux des Cocos Island

For stunning scenery and untouched landscapes, visit Blue Bay, a listed Marine Park well-known for its coral beds and amazing marine life.

Make time for a snorkelling adventure on this little bay: you will be amazed at the fuchsia mushroom corals crowning sea beds, and shoals of convict shoalfish, Moorish idols, damselfish and Parrotfish.

Note that the western area of the beach has the richest coral life.  If you’re looking for a budget 3-stars apartmentin Blue-Bay, we highly recommend Pingouinvillas for your stay.  It is only 8 minutes drive from the SSR Int. Airport.  This place is convenient mainly if you have to catch a flight early morning due to its proximity with the airport.

Bagatelle City

Bagatelle Mall

The famous Bagatelle Mall is thronged by tourists and locals alike. Why? The mall has 155 stores and offers the widest selection of specialty stores in Mauritius.

If you intend to shop till you drop, spare some of your time to exploring the brands on offer at the mall and tuck into a delicious treat at its huge food court.

Belle Mare City

Belle Mare Plage Beach

Belle Mare is one of the island’s most picturesque talcum sand beaches. Its water flows along the island’s east coast, which is a less developed tourist area in the region. The blue waters of the 400-meter-long beach sparkle against a backdrop of palm trees and caress soft white sand.  It is a nice area for a picnic, with filao trees offering generous shade and fisherman dropping anchor on weekends.

Grand Bay City

Grand Bay Lagoon

The seaside village of Grand Bay (also known as Grand Baie) is located to the island’s north.

It is a popular resort town whose beaches, nightlife and shopping beckon tourists in large numbers. You can enjoy sailing water skiing wind surfing, deep sea fishing or boat excursions to the northern islands.

Shop at local shops that have been in existence for half a century or visit the area’s modern shopping centres. At nightfall, Grand Bay’s bars and night clubs come alive. If travelling with kids, stop by at the local aquarium where you and yours can feed fish and watch sharks.

Trou aux biche City

Trou aux Biches Sandy Beach

Located on the northern coast of Mauritius, the town of Trou aux biche is home to a beach by the same name, which is a famous spot for sunset watching. World Travel Group has rated the beach as one of Mauritius’ most beautiful.

Several tourist resorts and hotels line the beach, although they don’t interfere with the suburban village-like feel. While you’re here, you can visit the island’s largest Hindu temple, play a few rounds at a local golf course and check out the Mauritius Aquarium mentioned above.

Port Louis City

Port Louis Harbour View

Port Louis is Mauritius’ capital city and home to many cultural attractions. Visit Blue Penny Museum to see the world’s first colonial stamp. Boast about seeing an ancient dodo skeleton at the Natural History Museum. Learn about the island’s religious diversity at a local church, Indian temples, Chinese places of worship and mosques. Take a stroll up Signal Mountain to marvel at the cityscape at sunset.

Tamarin City

Tamarin Crystal Islet

Located on the west coast of Mauritius, Tamarin is home to the Tamarin Bay, a popular surfing spot. It is also a dolphin spotting area, with many boat companies offering trips to watch and swim with dolphins in the mornings. The salt pans of Tamarin are a sought-after attraction – it is the only place on the island that continues producing salt in the traditional, artisanal way, continuing a heritage dating over 200 years. As you drive around, you will see how locals harvest salt, which feeds all of Mauritius.

Le Morne City

Le Morne Brabant Mountain Aerial View

Depending on your individual interests, the village of Le Morne can be the place where you engage in a surfing adventure or one where you relax at a white sandy beach or tee off at a golf course. The One Eye surf spot at Le Morne is world-famous among the surfing community. It is so called because of its fast left tube that traces the shape of an eye before breaking on the shallow reef.

In this artcle, we have highlighted the uniqueness and main features of the 10 most-visited cities in Mauritius. So, next time you’re visiting Mauritius Island, get this guide in hand and you know what is the best way to rent a car in Mauritius once you get out of the airport.

From airport terminal to glamorous holiday destination: Designer pop-up shop

April 6, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, continues to expand her presence worldwide with the opening of a Paris pop-up shop inside Le Bon Marché on May 1, which will operate through June 1. Best known for her silk caftans and timeless collection of elegant resort wear, Marie France Van Damme’s designs have become a “must-have” for the jet set and those who appreciate a timeless luxury product.

Located on the second floor of Le Bon Marché  (24 Rue de Sevres, 75007 Paris, France) in the Savoir Faire department, the new 100 square-foot pop-up shop will offer Marie France Van Damme’s summer 2019 collection of ‘Dolce Vita’ essentials, including luxe day resort wear, elegant summer dresses and evening wear, glamorous bathing suits, and flowy silk caftans. The pop-up shop will be designed to mimic an airport, complete with a dashboard listing departure flight numbers. Inspired by the legendary Splendido hotel and Hotel du Cap, the installation will transport its clientele to a glamorous beach destination replete with silver coated palm trees, inflatable buoys, and branded metallic beach bags.

Designed by renowned lifestyle curator Marie France Van Damme, the shop is inspired by a concept she calls the MFVD holiday jet-set ‘Jet Pack,’ which represents a selection of featherweight garments designed to pack in a small travel bag that you don’t have to check in. As the designer guides you through her world with the perfect ‘Jet Pack’ this summer, the pieces available in the pop-up shop will take the Marie France Van Damme woman from city to resort and resort to city, and provide the best of both worlds: luxe day resort wear and chic evening looks.

“Packing can be stressful and most people are guilty of stuffing their suitcases full of items they’ll never wear, just in case. The answer is, of course, to think carefully about what to bring, and to buy cleverly. The challenge is getting the right mix, to buy things that slide perfectly from day to night, items that can be dressed up or pared down,” says Marie France Van Damme. “Like me, our customer travels around the world, and she needs to find things that will look beautiful during the day as well as at night; from the beach to a cocktail or dinner in the evening. We are honored to open a pop-up in time for the holiday season in one of the world’s most exclusive luxury shopping destinations.”

Marie France Van Damme’s new Summer 2019 collection is a return to the glamorous roots of resort wear and offers striking essentials, designed to have a wear-anywhere appeal from Portofino to Paris. Signature pieces from the new collection include metallic swimsuits, vaporous cover-ups, silk boubou caftans, and effortless summer dresses.

For the perfect look, the pop-up shop will also offer onsite beach makeup services for customers, and an opportunity to design their own one and only boubou caftan. Customers can choose from a selection in a book, one fabric and one trim, which Marie France Van Damme will then produce in her atelier. Customers who purchase the limited-edition caftan can enter a raffle to win a two-night stay at a One&Only Resort. To celebrate the opening, the store will host a series of special events.

UK Civil Aviation Authority issues warning to Hajj travelers

April 3, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

With over 25,000 British Muslims expected to make the Hajj pilgrimage this August, the UK Civil Aviation Authority is launching a campaign to ensure that this often once in a lifetime trip is not ruined by booking through a disreputable company, or those falsely posing as reputable travel agents.

Travelers looking to book their Hajj pilgrimage this year are being warned against deals that seem too good to be true. The UK Civil Aviation Authority’s campaign is working to protect travelers after an increasing trend in the sale of illegal or fake package deals. In the worst cases, these illegal vendors have been prosecuted and imprisoned.

By researching, using a trustworthy and reputable company that will provide you with ATOL protection, consumers can travel with peace of mind. An Air Travel Organizers License (ATOL) protects travelers from losing their money or being stranded abroad. Travel firms selling air holiday packages must have an ATOL and must issue a certificate to travelers to prove that protection is in place.

Paul Smith, Director at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, said: “As we enter the busy booking period for Hajj travel, we are reminding consumers to research who they are planning to book with to ensure their important trip is protected.

“Using a recommended travel agent is helpful, but it is vital to check that your provider is ATOL protected despite any recommendation you may receive.”

Always follow these top five Hajj travel tips:

– Check for ATOL protection: Look for the ATOL logo on your travel company’s website, brochure, or shop front.

– Research the trip: Some companies will incorrectly claim to have ATOL protection. Check the company’s name on the online database at: packpeaceofmind.co.uk.

– Check if the travel package includes a visa: Appoint a licensed travel agent and ensure that they are arranging a visa as part of the travel arrangements.

– Watch out for hidden costs: Make sure to check the airport and accommodation fees, such as baggage allowance and accommodation transfers, to avoid any surprises.

– Check financial protection if booking with non-UK travel companies: There are some non-UK travel companies which offer Hajj travel to UK consumers, but these will often not be ATOL protected. Do research and check what financial protection they provide.

Xtra Aerospace in Florida also responsible for Boeing 737 Max crash?

April 3, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

Our purpose is to ensure each flight is safe and cost-effective every day. This is the message on the Xtra Aerospace website. The Xtra Aerospace states their maintenance division can provide optimal maintenance to all of the unique aviation needs.

Xtra Aerospace may have been very much off on this goal when in Indonesia a Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX crashed after it was repaired in a U.S. aircraft maintenance facility and the so-called angle-of-attack sensor was replaced. This sensor sent erroneous signals causing repeated nose-down movements on the Oct. 29 flight that pilots struggled with until the Boeing Max plunged into the Java Sea. Everyone on board, 189 people were killed.

XTRA Aerospace is an FAA/EASA/ANAC certified repair station located in Miramar, Florida, USA.

Documents obtained by Bloomberg News show the repair station, XTRA Aerospace Inc. in Miramar, Fla., had worked on the sensor. It was later installed on the Lion Air plane on Oct. 28 in Bali, after pilots had reported problems with instruments displaying speed and altitude. There’s no indication the Florida shop did maintenance on the Ethiopian jet’s device, according to Bloomberg.

Xtra Aerospace states: ” We specialize in the repair of instruments, radio & mechanical/electrical accessories. XTRA offers extensive capabilities servicing the A300, A320 family/A330/A340 and Boeing 737 thru 777. We are proud to serve the world’s top airlines and suppliers with one goal… complete customer satisfaction.

XTRA Aerospace welcomes the U.S. Government. XTRA is DD2345 certified to obtain military critical technical data. XTRA’s cage code is 5FWE2 and we look forward to helping you with all your sourcing and repair needs.”

U.S. teams assisting the Indonesian investigation reviewed the work by the company to ensure that there weren’t additional angle-of-attack sensors in the supply chain with defects, said a person familiar with the work. They didn’t find any evidence of systemic issues on other sensors the company may have worked on.

Bloomberg states in their article:

“Much of the concern by regulators and lawmakers after the Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines crashes has focused on Boeing’s design of the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, or MCAS, which was programmed to push down a plane’s nose to help prevent aerodynamic stalls in some situations. But the preliminary report by Indonesia on the Lion Air crash shows that maintenance and pilot actions are also being reviewed.

It’s common for licensed repair stations to overhaul older parts so they can be resold, said John Goglia, a former member of the NTSB who earlier worked as an airline mechanic. Airlines can save money buying used parts and U.S. regulations require that the parts meet legal standards, Goglia said.

If the sensor was repaired at XTRA Aerospace, “it would have to go through what the manual says to overhaul it,” he said. “That means all the steps.”

The Indonesian preliminary report doesn’t say what went wrong with the device but indicates that the plane’s maintenance is a subject of the investigation.”

The Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max that crashed on March 10 also apparently had issues with the same type of sensor, which triggered a safety system on the plane that was driving down the plane’s nose, according to people familiar with the accident. In that case, investigators are still attempting to locate one of the sensors to help determine why it malfunctioned.

How fast things can get lost… and found again at Frankfurt Airport

March 29, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

New online search function speeds up processes in the Lost & Found Office at Frankfurt Airport

Fiddlesticks! The family has just settled into their seats in the plane and are full of excitement about their holiday. When suddenly the youngest child cries, “my teddy bear is gone!” Now what? It’s a shame that she’ll have to do without her favorite cuddly animal during the trip. But it would at least be great to know that it will be in safe hands in Frankfurt Airport’s lost & found office until they return―it would be a huge relief, in fact.

But how can they find out? Fortunately, it has just become considerably easier for the owners of missing objects to report their losses to the lost & found office online―any time of the day or night. With luck, the lost item will already be in the database. A new system now automatically compares search requests and returned items, identifies matches, and notifies owners as soon as their missing property turns up.

In the search portal on the airport website, it is possible to specify attributes such as the item’s brand, color, size, unique inscriptions etc. and when and where it was lost. A photograph of it can even be uploaded. “The new system greatly facilitates our work,” says Rike Krüger of the lost & found office at Frankfurt Airport. Passengers can easily select search parameters themselves. In the past, it was necessary for airport employees to laboriously copy this information from emails or faxes or call owners to ask for details. Especially on busy days, this can take awhile. “Travelers now enjoy an improved service. They can actively support the search process themselves and no longer have to constantly worry during their trip, hoping against hope that we will have found their property by the time they return,” adds Krüger. “We can now let them know right away as soon as their lost smartphone, backpack, umbrella, saxophone or whatever appears in our system.” The image analysis function will also be improved even further very soon; the software will then be able to automatically identify and correlate more attributes of missing objects. This will make it faster and more convenient both to submit search requests and to identify found items.

Once it’s clear that the lost & found office has a missing object, its owner has various options for recovering their property. They can of course personally retrieve it from the lost & found office right after returning, or else authorize someone else to do it for them. For a small fee and the cost of postage, the staff of the lost & found office will also send items to anywhere in the world.

Good to know

The Lost & Found Office at Frankfurt Airport is a service of Fraport, the airport’s operator. Its 10 employees deal with up to 70 returned items and 50 search requests a day. Currently about 10,000 objects are stored in the lost & found office in Terminal 1 located at the entrance to the Airport city Mall on Level 0. They range from items such as jewelry and electrical appliances, across clothing and accessories, toys and travel bags, all the way to curiosities such chainsaws, wheelchairs and microwave ovens. They are kept for three months and then auctioned off if they haven’t been claimed by that time. The proceeds are kept for three years, just in case owners make themselves known by then. The lost & found office is open to the public every day between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Passengers and visitors can find more information on the lost & found office and many other services on Frankfurt Airport’s website, Service Shop, or Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube social media pages.

Starbucks Hawaii: Rotten food from the garbage and warm left over coffee

March 20, 2019 by Forimmediaterelease

Starbucks is not the only one to blame when human decency in America is under attack. Pearlridge Mall on the Island of Oahu is the second largest shopping mall in the State of Hawaii.  It’s far enough from the resort hotels, so visitors taking a bus or renting a car to explore the rest of Oahu don’t really find a lot of desire to visit Pearlridge Mall. This business center remains a very popular place for locals to shop, eat and to get entertained.

Tourism stakeholders love for homeless people to remain on this part of the island. After all, hungry dirty and mentally challenged people are bad for Waikiki, bad for white sandy beaches and terrible for tourism business.

Starbucks is a popular place not only in Waikiki but also in Pearlridge.

This afternoon a well-groomed and well-dressed lady is sitting on a chair outside and by the entrance of Pearl-Ridge Starbucks asking everyone walking by for a Dollar. She is very polite, humbled and obviously desperate.

Right in front of the Starbucks entrance is a not so well dressed local homeless man searching through the garbage can Starbucks customers fill up. After checking 3 or 4 thrown away cups, he gets lucky and finds some leftover coffee to drink and even a once delicious frappuccino drink with some whipped cream left. The coffee may be lukewarm, but no complaints here.

It’s 3 pm now, and the obviously hungry homeless man found a container with leftover breakfast, someone threw away hours before. It appears to be hash browns and eggs. The man tried to eat it but had to spit it out. Apparently, it was already bad.

Welcome to the State of Hawaii, welcome to where America needs to be great again urgently. This is a part of the Aloha State today in midst of a homeless emergency.

As long as homeless people stay away from Waikiki and the tourist beaches the world is ok. It enables hotels and resorts to charge $500 = $1000.00 for a room night, pay minimum wages to staff, and later wire all the profits to their mainland-based headquarters.

Laws and city ordinances give the police power to make it illegal to remain on beaches at night, sleep in cars or on public land. Homeless are turned into vagabonds having to move their shopping cards belonging constantly. They have no friends, they feel no Aloha.

On the other hand, tourism Business is good.

Unfortunately, minimum wages are not living wages and cannot buy a roof over someone’s head in Hawaii.

Hotels sometimes donate to the food bank or to other charity, but overall the attitude remains, “It’s not the problem of the Hawaii tourist industry to take care of the homeless and drug users.”

The State is wasting billions for a rail system that has been in the making for years. There is no money to fix the thousands of potholes everywhere on the island, and there certainly is no money to seriously address the homeless problem.

In 2015 homeless people had a solution: Get naked!

WRONG, it’s everyone’s problem. It includes Starbucks of course.
Tourism is everyone’s business in a place like Hawaii, where this is the number one money earner and business. Where is the Aloha Hawaii is so famous for?
