Some policies with Trip Cancellation can cover travelers who are unable to take pre-planned trips because of an unexpected extension of the school year. This type of coverage can get travelers their money back for airline tickets, hotels, and excursions.
Often times travelers think an extended school year means that classes continue into summer vacation, but in some policies, it can also apply to Thanksgiving and winter break, according to travel insurance provider, TravelSafe.
