To determine the winners, Yelp data scientists parsed how many healthy-lifestyle businesses and amenities U.S. cities offered in relation to their population size, then looked at how often people used or searched for those businesses, and how highly they were rated. Once the numbers were crunched, Women’s Health interviewed Yelp’s local experts and residents about their town’s buzziest wellness trends and recommendations.
The resulting cities offer the best overall quality-of-life options for wellness: restaurants with farm-fresh food, landscapes that energize and calm, plenty of options for outdoor recreation, easy access to doctors, and endless ways to stay social. Featured cities and businesses are invited to display a Women’s Health and Yelp co-branded seal to showcase their achievement as one of America’s Wellthiest Cities.
To celebrate the partnership, Women’s Health and Yelp are hosting events across the country- ranging from spin classes to heated yoga to taco tastings. Attendees will go home with a copy of the July/August issue and a swag bag from Women’s Health.
