QUÉBEC CITY, Canada – The Pignon Bleu and Hilton Québec today debuted the first edition of the “Life-Size Gingerbread House,” which will be featured in the lobby of the hotel during the holidays. This festive creation will raise funds for The Pignon Bleu, a leader in the fight against poverty in the Québec City region.

Now through January 6, 2019, this fourteen-foot-tall gingerbread house designed by Pastry Master Jean-Luc Piquemal will welcome hundreds of travelers staying at the Hilton Québec and many citizens of the greater Québec City area. Guests and locals are invited to make a donation to be entered to win a two-night hotel stay. All funds raised will be donated to Le Pignon Bleu to support the extraordinary work of this organization, which offers a multitude of services to children, families and unemployed people in the city.

“We are very pleased with this original Hilton Québec initiative,” says Roseline Roussel, Executive Director of the Pignon Bleu. “This fun, festive gingerbread house will surely please the hotel’s guests, employees and the people of Québec City. We thank the Hilton team who are working hard to help us raise money to support our food safety mission, publicize our actions and build our reputation. We are fortunate to have many generous partners.”

“Hilton is not just a hotel brand. Supporting the community and environment are living values in the company. That’s why Hilton Québec chose to support Le Pignon Bleu in 2017 and, since then, we have been looking for an original and different way of promoting the organization,” said Alain Leblanc, Director of Operations at Hilton Québec. “What better way than a life-sized gingerbread house in the hotel lobby during one of the busiest times of the year in Québec City! We hope that those young and old will come out in great numbers to come and admire this first edition of the house and make a donation to this organization that makes a difference in our community.”
