Two New Businesses Announced for Emerging Wheeling Town Center

WHEELING, Ill., Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Starbucks and Inland Bank are the two latest commercial anchors to sign a lease at the eagerly anticipated Wheeling Town Center. Taking shape this spring, these two additions complement the mix of space that will define the heart of Wheeling as the mixed-use complex becomes a reality in 2018.

“It is exciting to partner with Starbucks and Inland Bank as we create a downtown for Wheeling that will be a destination for surrounding neighbors and surrounding suburban visitors alike,” said Joshua Goldstein, President of The Lynmark Group, Wheeling Town Center’s developer. “This historically underutilized part of Wheeling will be completely transformed by these tenants and the comprehensive community-focused space to come.”

Wheeling Town Center’s new tenants will play an important role in the Village’s economic growth and vitality. “Starbucks and Inland Bank are important anchors that complement the existing restaurants, entertainment and retail mix that are thriving in Wheeling,” said John Melaniphy, Wheeling’s Director of Economic Development. “The growing collection of entertainment, restaurant and specialty retail space in Wheeling’s new downtown will be a tremendous asset to the Village for years to come.”

The Starbucks, which is scheduled to open later this year, will feature a drive-through and outdoor patio seating on a 2,100 square foot plot, surrounded by rich landscaping and bike racks. Inland Bank, with a 2,000 square foot footprint, will also have a drive-through and open in late 2018.

The bank, which has 10 other locations in Chicagoland, is headquartered in Oak Brook, and will be expanding its suburban presence with this addition. “We are looking forward to opening a branch in the Wheeling Town Center, with a grand opening anticipated for later this year,” said Peter Stickler, President and CEO of Inland Bank. “We will provide custom banking solutions to meet the financial goals of the businesses and residents of both the Center and neighboring community.”

Starbucks and Inland Bank join CMX Cinemas and City Works Eatery and Pour House as the first commercial tenants at Wheeling Town Center which contains over 100,000 square feet of commercial space across its 16-acre site. Adjacent to the Wheeling Metra Station, the space will also contain 300 luxury apartments with high-end amenities and open green space.

“The Wheeling Town Center is well on its way to becoming the center of it all, and these new tenants support the mix of commercial space that will best serve the Town Center’s residents and visitors,” says James Schutter from Newmark, Grubb, Knight, Frank, the Town Center’s exclusive commercial broker. “We are eager to have Starbucks and Inland Bank join this developing and unique community space, and we look forward to announcing additional tenants in the months to come.”
