TAT update: Summary of provincial COVID-19 control measures as of 5 January 2021

Region   Province COVID-19 control measures on visitors Central Bangkok Closure of educational institutions at all levels including tuition schools are to be extended until 31 January, 2021.Dining in at food outlets and restaurants of all types (except at airports) will be allowed from 06.00-21.00 Hrs. Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed at food outlets or restaurants, though takeaway is allowed.Meetings, seminars and banquets with more than 200 participants must seek prior approval with strict disease control measures.     Closure of 25 types of businesses and venues, including entertainment businesses (pubs, bars and karaoke); water and theme parks; children’s playgrounds and stations of all types; snooker and billiard venues; game stations; games and Internet shops; fighting cock venues; children’s nurseries or elderly care facilities (except regular overnight care services); boxing stadiums; martial art gyms; horse racetracks; massage and bath venues; racetracks of all types; banquet and similar venues; fighting bull and fish venues and similar; Buddha amulets stalls and centres; preschool nurseries and kindergartens; beauty clinics; tattoo and piercing services; fitness centres; healthcare venues including spas and traditional Thai massage shops; boxing gyms; ice skating rinks and bowling alleys or similar venues; and dance and ballet schools.     Strict disease control measures must be applied: all food and beverage outlets including street food stalls, restaurants, food courts and centres and cafeterias (excluding pubs and bars which are ordered closed) are prohibited from selling alcoholic beverages on premises; shopping malls, department stores and community malls; exhibition halls and convention centres; hotel’s meeting facilities; small and medium and community retail and wholesale shops; markets, floating markets and flea markets; large retail and wholesale venues; hair salons and barbers for advance appointments; regular overnight care services at nurseries or elderly day cares; beauty clinics and manicure/pedicure service venues; golf courses and driving ranges; sport stadiums; public parks and outdoor sport venues; pet care venues; indoor sport venues; indoor and outdoor swimming pools; botanic gardens, museums, learning centres, historical sites, public libraries and art galleries; water sports venues; cinemas, and theatres; zoos and similar venues.   The measures that must be applied at these venues include body temperature screening points, mandatory mask wearing, social distancing rules, alcohol gel and handwashing stations; regular cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, and mandatory register visits via the Thai Chana contact tracing application.     The public are urged to wear a mask when going outside.     Nonthaburi Bang Yai Markets, Bang Bua Thong Municipal Market, Pichai Market and all commercial buildings adjacent the 7-storey, pink condominium have been ordered to be closed temporarily until 12 January, 2021.Wat Lahan in Bang Bua Thong District has been ordered to be closed until 14 January, 2021.All educational institutions at all levels including tuition schools are to be closed until 17 January, 2021, and are advised to apply e-learning systems.  Closure of fighting cock-fish venues and similar fighting venues or racetracks; snooker and billiard shops; fishing and shrimp fishing parks or similar activities; game stations; games and Internet shops; water and theme parks as well as children’s playgrounds or stations at markets; boxing stadiums and gyms; Buddha amulet stalls and centres; massage and bath parlours; elderly care centres (except for regular overnight cares).  The following venues and businesses are to close from 22.00 – 05.00 Hrs. daily and are prohibited from selling any alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises: restaurants, food parks; hotel restaurants; food and beverage outlets; food centres; cafeterias; all food and beverage outlets in shopping malls, street food stalls; pubs, bars and karaoke venues.A ban on gatherings has also been imposed on concerts and music performances at any venues. Any gatherings or activities that would draw crowds are also prohibited. Household gatherings can be held while government activities can take place under strict social distancing rules. Religious ceremonies can be held under strict public health measures or should consider a virtual event format.The public and venue operators are ordered to strictly follow public health guidelines. These include body temperature screening points, mandatory mask wearing, social distancing rules, alcohol gel and handwashing stations; regular cleaning and disinfecting surfaces; and mandatory register visits via the Thai Chana or Mor Chana contact tracing applications.     Pathum Thani Closure of educational institutions at all levels, games and Internet shops, boxing stadiums, fighting cock and bull facilities, until 15 January, 2021.  

Cinemas, theatres, shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience marts, and markets are to strictly follow the public health guidelines.

Exceptions for the utilisation of educational areas are made for e-learning activities, emergency shelters, or government activities.  A ban on any gatherings that would pose a risk of disease transmission; such as, meetings, seminars, banquets, or charity food donations (except ones organised by government agencies).  Closure of at-risk venues, including entertainment businesses of all types (pubs, bars and karaoke); water and theme parks; children’s playgrounds and stations of all types; snooker and billiard venues; game stations and games and Internet shops; fighting cock venues; children’s nurseries or elderly care facilities (except regular overnight care services); boxing stadiums and gyms, martial art gyms and regular gyms; fitness centres; health and wellness businesses of all types (spas, Thai traditional massage and foot massage shops); and dance and ballet schools.  Food outlets and restaurants must apply social distancing rules or consider providing only delivery or takeaway services. Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed at food outlets or restaurants, though takeaway is allowed.Shopping malls, department stores, community malls, convention centres or exhibition halls, convenience marts, supermarkets or similar services can open per usual operating hours but must apply strict disease control measures.  All arrivals from the highly controlled areas are required to report the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day quarantine.     Ang Thong, Sing Buri, and Nakhon Nayok Individuals who visited the COVID-19 risk areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day quarantine.     Saraburi Individuals who visited the COVID-19 risk areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day quarantine.   Mass gathering events with more than 200 participants must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Chai Nat All arrivals from the highly controlled areas must present a medical certificate, issued no more than 72 hours, with RT-PCR laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected. Or they are required to report to the local administration or public health office and be tested for COVID-19.  All arrivals from the highly controlled areas are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine.     Suphan Buri A ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages.   Food outlets and restaurants are allowed for offer take-home service only.   Closure of markets.   Individuals who visited the COVID-19 risk areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day quarantine.   North Chiang Rai Arrivals from the highly controlled and controlled areas will be screened according to the public health measures and are required to register with the Thai Chana contact tracing application.     Chiang Mai Entertainment businesses of all types (pubs, bars, or karaoke) must close from 23.00-05.00 Hrs. All customers are required to register with the Thai Chana contact tracing application. Number of customers must be limited to 75% of the capacity.All self-service food outlets (shabu and BBQ) to switch to table service or seek prior approval for self-service option. Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed at food outlets or restaurants, from 23-00-05.00 Hrs.A ban on gatherings and events with more than 50 participants.All arrivals at any points of entry must register with the CM-Chana contact tracing application and self-monitor their health for 14 days.Arrivals from the highly controlled areas are required to enter a 14-day quarantine or be tested for COVID-19 Operators of accommodation of all types must collect contact information of all guests and re-check their CM-Chana registration.     Lamphun All entertainment venues and similar businesses are ordered to strictly follow the COVID-19 control measures.     Phayao Arrivals from Samut Sakhon and Rayong are required to register with the local contact tracing application, enter a 10-day home quarantine and are prohibited to join any mass gathering events.  Arrivals from Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Prakan, and Samut Songkhram are required to register with the local contact tracing application.     Phrae Arrivals from the highly controlled areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day home quarantine.  Arrivals from the controlled areas, areas under high surveillance, and areas under surveillance are to report to the local administration or public health office and monitor their health for 14 days.  All mass gathering events must be downsized.     Uttaradit Religious venues are to cancel all mass gathering ceremonies.  All workshops, meetings and seminars with less than 200 participants are to strictly follow the public health guidelines. Events with more than 200 participants must submit reasons for holding such activity and details of the public health measures.  All mass gathering events with more than 100 participants are to be postponed until the situation improves.     Nan Arrivals from Samut Sakhon from 1 December, 2020, are to register for contact tracing and enter a 14-day self-quarantine.     Kamphaeng Phet Arrivals from Samut Sakhon are to monitor their health for 14 days.       Phichit Arrivals from the highly controlled and controlled areas, especially from Samut Sakhon, are to enter a 14-day self-quarantine.      Phetchabun Arrivals from the highly controlled and controlled areas are to enter a 14-day self-quarantine.  Merit-making and traditional ceremonies can be organised under strict public health measures.     Phitsanulok All entertainment venues are to set up a one entry-exit and follow the public health guidelines.   Northeast (Isan) Buri Ram Arrivals from are to report to the local COVID-19 screening centre and enter a 14-day self-quarantine. Arrivals from other areas will be screened and are required to register with the Thai Chana contact tracing application.  All arrivals from Bangkok and the neighbouring provinces (Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Samut Prakan, Rayong, Chon Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Chanthaburi) are required to undergo strict screening procedures, including completing the T. 8 health questionnaire; register via the Mor-Chana contact tracing application; enter a 14-day quarantine either at private residences or accommodation provided by the provincial public health office.Those who do not want to enter quarantine must undergo a rapid test immediately as instructed by the local health officer and must pay the fee of 600 Baht at their own expense. If the test result is negative, then no quarantine is required.     Bueng Kan Closure of fighting cock facilities.  All entertainment venues, including karaoke, shops, restaurants, and hotels are to strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Chaiyaphum Cancellation of all mass gathering events and activities.  Religious and traditional ceremonies can be organised under strict public health guidelines.     Kalasin Markets, flea markets, public parks, all religious and entertainment venues are to strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Khon Kaen Stepping up province-wide COVID-19 control measures.  The public and private sector are urged to reconsider organising mass gathering events.     Loei (as of 29 December, 2020)   Travellers and tourists are still welcome.     Maha Sarakham In full preparation to undergo the COVID-19 control measures when required.     Nong Khai Seeking cooperation on the cancellation or postponement of mass gathering events.All entertainment venues, shops, food outlets and restaurants, and cinemas must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Nong Bua Lamphu Closure of fighting cock venues until 31 January, 2021.      Nakhon Ratchasima Seeking cooperation on the cancellation or postponement of mass gathering events.Shopping malls, entertainment venues, flea markets, and restaurants are to strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Roi Et Arrivals from Samut Sakhon or other COVID-19 risk areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day self-quarantine.     Surin Arrivals from Samut Sakhon, Rayong, Chon Buri, Bangkok and other highly controlled areas as classified by the CCSA are to report to the local administration or public health office within 24 hours of their arrival.  Sport venues, boxing stadiums, and fighting cock facilities are to set up a visitor registration system.  Entertainment venues, restaurants, and shopping malls are to strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Ubon Ratchathani Arrivals from Samut Sakhon and Rayong are to report to the local public health office and enter a 14-day home quarantine.  Mass gathering events can be organised but must strictly follow the public health guidelines.  14-day closure of fighting cock facilities.Closure of flea markets.     Mukdahan Arrivals from Samut Sakhon are to report to the local public health office and enter a 14-day home quarantine.  Avoid large crowds and crowded places; such as, shopping malls, markets, flea markets, schools, cinemas, meeting rooms, sport venues, and public parks.     Amnat Charoen Markets and flea markets, public parks and venues, and religious venues, as well as entertainment venues must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Yasothon Arrivals from the highly controlled areas are to report to the local administration or public health office and enter a 14-day self-quarantine.  Seeking cooperation on the cancellation or postponement of mass gathering events.     Si Sa Ket Arrivals from COVID-19 risk areas are to undergo testing and enter a 14-day local quarantine.     Udon Thani Closure of boxing stadiums and fighting cock facilities.   South Chumphon Arrivals from Samut Sakhon and COVID-19 risk provinces are to undergo a real-time RT-PRC test and enter a 14-day quarantine.  Arrivals from other provinces are to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine.     Ranong Arrivals from Samut Sakhon from 1 December, 2020, are to report to the local public health office.  Mass gathering events with more than 300 participants must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Surat Thani Arrivals from Samut Sakhon are to report to the local public health office.   Individuals who visited the COVID-19 risk areas are to enter a 14-day quarantine.Mass gathering events with more than 300 participants must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Phang Nga Closure of fighting cock facilities, horse racetracks, and flea markets.       Phuket Cancellation of mass gathering events and activities, sport tournaments, and walking streets.     Krabi Mass gathering events and activities can only be held under the approval from the local public health office.  Travellers are welcome but must strictly follow the public health guidelines.     Nakhon Si Thammarat Follow the public health guidelines.     Trang Setting up of 4 checkpoints for arrivals and departures by road.     Phatthalung Avoid mass gatherings.
