TAT partners Dettol to elevate Thai health and hygiene standard

Bangkok, 02 April, 2021 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and makers of Dettol disinfectant Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification programme.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said, “TAT is delighted to welcome Dettol as a new strategic partner to enhance international standard and awareness of the Amazing Thailand SHA certification programme through the global communication channels of Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand).”

Amazing Thailand SHA is a public-private sector cooperation that represents a mark of quality certification for service standards and hygiene to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection and make tourism part of the nationwide prevention and control measures.

The MOU between TAT and Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand) comprises four key areas of cooperation.

Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand) will help enhance the Amazing Thailand SHA standard through various activities, including providing support on trainings and workshops by internationally recognised experts on health and safety regulations.

The company will also help enhance the international awareness of the Amazing Thailand SHA logo as being a global health and hygiene standard via its website, www.reckitt.com, and social media networks in several countries around the world.

To promote safe travel conditions during the Songkran 2021 holiday period, Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand) is giving away 200,000 pieces of Dettol antiseptic products at Songkran event areas in Bangkok and several other provinces, including Ayutthaya, Buri Ram, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Lampang, Nong Khai, and Sukhothai.

Reckitt Benckiser (Thailand) is also offering special packages for businesses certified with the Amazing Thailand SHA, including special discounts on antiseptic products or health and safety guides for tourism-related small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
