Centara Unveils New Brand Ad Campaign “Centara – The Place to Be.”

October 28, 2019 by PressEditor

Campaign connects Thai family values with unique guest experiences

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, is launching a new brand advertising campaign this week in line with its revitalized brand essence, “Centara – The Place to Be.” The new campaign is aimed at consumers and travel industry professionals in Thailand and around the world and will appear in a variety of traditional and digital media formats along with the company’s social media, mobile and online platforms.

“Centara’s defining qualities are the unique combination of Thainess and Family Values,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Centara CEO. “They form the backbone of all things Centara, from our company’s heritage and service style through to our product and design, but most importantly, to the distinctive guest experiences we provide for our customers. We believe the new campaign captures the essence of that in a compelling and memorable way.”

The new campaign, represents the culmination of an extensive internal review and research process that helped identify the unique and authentic essence, and refine the positioning, of Centara Hotels & Resorts, both from a customer point of view – be that a guest, trade or business partner – and in the eyes of its people. That process brought clarity by identifying the Thai family values of Belonging, Caring and Sharing as the core qualities that define the Centara experience. Through these values, places are created, and experiences inspired, that evoke a true sense of belonging.  Whether as a place to enjoy a family holiday or a romantic break, to do business, to wine and dine, celebrate, build a career or form a business partnership, Centara is “The Place to Be”. And whilst this message will serve as the theme of Centara’s upcoming advertising and communications, the essence and tagline which are so genuine to Centara, will long outlive the campaign.

“We wanted to align our brand positioning to truly reflect the authentic characteristics of Centara’s DNA. The new campaign celebrates the shared values that connect our brand and our customers in a way that is upbeat and relatable. It was important that we created a message that is very simple and memorable yet also rich in meaning. ‘The Place to Be’ is clearly rooted in the philosophy and heritage of our company, our warm, genuine and personal service approach, and the continued focus we place on creating environments where people want to be, and in which they feel they truly belong.” commented Tom Thrussell, Centara VP – Brand, Marketing & Digital.

Along with the new advertising campaign, the company is introducing newly refreshed visual identities for two of its core brands – the upper upscale Centara Grand, and the upscale Centara. The brand update serves to create distinction between the two hotel brands and the group’s corporate masterbrand, as well as to rejuvenate and better reflect their brand personalities. The new identities are being progressively rolled out to all Centara Grand and Centara properties in Thailand and worldwide. Centara also plans to announce its first luxury brand in early 2020.

August 29, 2019 by PressEditor

Travel provides a much-needed break from everyday life to discover new places and cultures, meet new people and see the world from a different perspective. Along the way, travel can also take a heavy toll on physical health and well-being. Energy-draining jet lag disrupts sleep. Disciplined eating habits suffer. Exercise routines get interrupted.

Enter Staying Well, a healthier way to travel from Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator. Staying Well is a new programme launched by Centara to provide guests more ways to take care of their health and wellness throughout their stay.

“We are continually looking for innovative ways to serve health-conscious travellers and promote healthy living,” commented Tom Thrussell, Vice President – Brand, Marketing & Digital, Centara Hotels & Resorts. “Staying Well represents a significant enhancement in the level of services available to our guests, enabling them to rejuvenate body and mind, and maintain their lifestyle of choice whilst travelling.”

The Staying Well programme is built around three core pillars: Live Well, Eat Well and Sleep Well.

Live Well: Exercise benefits body and mind. Staying Well’s Wellness kit offers guests everything needed for a private in-room exercise workout. The kit includes fitness accessories such as a yoga mat, Swiss ball, 4-kg kettlebell, 2-kg dumbbell pair, muscle therapy foam roller and a workout folder with a variety of easy-to-follow exercise routines, from Morning Yoga to Full Body Workouts, accompanied by workout videos. There are also free group exercise classes guests can join throughout their stay and a gym kit with workout outfit available on request.

Eat Well: Centara’s expanded menu offers nutritious selections spanning diabetic, healthy-heart, gluten-free, low sodium, reduced calorie and vegetarian options, with easy-to-find nutrition information included in restaurant and room service menus.

Sleep Well: End the day with a better night’s sleep. Staying Well features an array of pillow choices, from memory foam to hypoallergenic buckwheat pillows felt by many to promote better sleep. A spa music channel provides soothing sounds. Guests can order a Rest Well kit complete with ear plugs, eye mask, lavender water mister, and silky-soft pajamas made of bamboo fibre. Wake up refreshed and ready for a new day.

Staying Well is being progressively introduced at all Centara Grand-branded properties and select Centara hotels and resorts.

Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana

August 22, 2019 by PressEditor

Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana, a Centara Hotels & Resorts property located near Don Mueang International Airport, is the only hotel and convention center within Thailand’s largest Government Complex. Centara has just completed a comprehensive renovation worth more than 100 million baht, spanning guestrooms and suites, the hotel’s restaurant, and lobby and public areas. The renovation reflects a modern, elegant and stylish design perfectly attuned to the local art and culture of the Mons community residing in Koh Kred, Thailand, offering guests a unique visual look and a brand new hospitality experience.

The makeover reveals newly-designed guestrooms, which increase to 212 total rooms divided into four room types — Superior Room, Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, and CENTRA Plus Suite. Every guestroom features a contemporary design and light décor presenting the charm of Siamese Fighting Fish, which has endured since ancient times and was recently declared the National Aquatic Animal of Thailand, on a wall in each guestroom. Guestrooms also offer all the amenities needed to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing, including complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi. Junior Suites and CENTRA Plus Suites also feature a private living room for your comfort.

All-day dining restaurant Bistro4 has been redesigned with a show kitchen and new decoration, offering to seat for 350 guests and suitable for socializing with friends and colleagues. The Bistro4 menu features delectable international cuisines, including Thai, Japanese and Western fare, creatively crafted by experienced chefs.

Additional upgrades include renovations to its lobby, with a new concept offering a non-hotel lobby-like comfortable feel. MIX Social Space has also been designed as a co-working space, making it an ideal place for semi-private meetings and social gatherings, where guests can settle into a comfortable chair and relax in a cozy atmosphere with complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi. The Grab & Go corner has also been created within the MIX Social Space area for guests to purchase snacks, drinks and personal care products 24/7.

In addition, the hotel offers retail space and brings products crafted by people with disabilities and the elderly to sell at the Community Shop located near the lobby, reflecting Centara’s commitment to supporting those in need while building a strong community and inclusive society. In addition, the hotel features a Thai massage service located at the Refresh Zone near the lobby for guests to relieve stress and tension, courtesy of elderly Thai massage specialists from Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

The hotel offers up to 26 meeting rooms divided between two buildings – Square and Circle – plus the Convention Centre, which spans more than 29,000 square meters. The Square building provides flexible meeting spaces with 24 meeting rooms, including the Vayupak Grand Ballroom, a gigantic 1,710-square-metre pillar-less venue with a ceiling height of 9.3 meters, for meetings catering up to 2,000 guests. The Circle building offers an auditorium and ample reception space, with a glass wall giving a panoramic view of the complex. Every meeting room features the latest technology including hi-speed Wi-Fi. Events of every scope and scale, be it a seminar, product launch, press conference, staff party, wedding or concert, will be skillfully handled by the hotel’s professional team.

The hotel is connected to Government Complex Building B, giving meeting participants convenient access to banks, shops, clinics, and other facilities. Currently, the hotel is one of the main venues organizing government agencies’ events with strong demand from private companies.

Hang out with your best pals in a pristine paradise, explore the reef, go shipwreck diving, spot dolphins, discover neighboring islands or simply relish the joy of the marine world during a sunset cruise.

Hang out with your best pals in a pristine paradise, explore the reef, go shipwreck diving, spot dolphins, discover neighboring islands or simply relish the joy of the marine world during a sunset cruise.

Centara offers a choice of resorts in the Maldives; Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives is an idyllic adults-only island retreat with pure white sand and a sparkling blue lagoon, which makes it the perfect playground for beach games, snorkeling and water sports. Alternatively, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives features its own house reef and is surrounded by some of the most famous dive sites in the world.

From diving and snorkeling to water sports, island escapes, fishing trips and conservation projects and more, Centara’s perfect pair of Maldivian resorts present many wonderful ways for groups of friends to relax, reconnect and reinvigorate their relationship.

Centara Invites Besties To Hang Out At Its Two Resorts In The Maldives In New “BFF Breaks” Initiative
Centara Grand Island Resort Spa Maldives

At Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives, the resort’s world-class Watersports Centre offers a full range of activities, allowing guests to enjoy fun-filled days on the ocean. Kite surfing is one of the most uplifting water sports available, as riders speed across the waves or through the sky, up to 30 meters above the sea!

Alternatively, sailing is a wonderful skill that friends can share together. The resort’s team will teach companions how to handle a catamaran, catch the wind and glide gracefully across the water. These lessons will give guests a great new life skill and could even be the start of a new shared passion. Other options include parasailing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and more.

Over at Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives, a stylish fleet of vessels is ready to take guests on a series of mesmerizing marine adventures, including underwater encounters with a breath-taking range of colorful creatures.

One of the most incredible encounters a diver can have is with the world’s biggest fish: the whale shark. The Maldives is the only place in the world with a year-round population of these oceanic giants, and the resort’s PADI-certified dive team will lead a private cruise into the deep blue sea, for one of life’s most awe-inspiring experiences.

Prefer to keep your hair dry? Friends can climb aboard the resort’s semi-submersible for a scenic ride beneath the waves. Suitable for all ages, this is a great way to gather your group together for a truly unforgettable journey, cruising past colorful corals and tropical fish – a genuine highlight of the holiday.
For a more invigorating adventure, groups can head out on the shimmering sea for a day of big game fishing. Chill out on the deck of your boat, crack open a cold beer, cast out a line and soak up the stunning scenery. Guests will get a real thrill when they do battle with some of the ocean’s fastest fish, including marlin and tuna, before posing for onboard photos with their mates.

Friends’ holidays are one of the biggest emerging trends in the travel industry, as former schoolfriends, college pals, teammates and work colleagues get together to create awesome escapes together. Elevate your next buddies’ break to the next level of luxury with Centara in the Maldives and make memories that will be treasured forever.

Centara Expands in Thailand with launch of new beachfront hotel in Sriracha

July 8, 2019 by PressEditor

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, has added a new destination to its Thailand collection with the launch of a beautifully designed seafront hotel facing the Gulf of Thailand in Sriracha.

The newly built Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites Sriracha is the first Centara hotel in Sriracha. The beachfront location along the coast of Thailand’s eastern seaboard in Chonburi Province is 90 minutes by car from Bangkok.

2-bedroom Suite

The striking design of Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites Sriracha, with its cool whites and hues of blue throughout, evokes the waters of the Gulf of Thailand in Sriracha, once a traditional Thai fishing village that retains an old-world charm and a slower pace of daily life, making it perfect for a relaxing couples getaway and a fun family holiday destination as well.

Deluxe Room

The 145 units offer an array of accommodation options, beginning with Superior, Deluxe and Deluxe Seaview guestrooms, which are ideal for two adults. Family Residences and Two-bedroom Suites can comfortably accommodate families of four to five and are an excellent choice for extended stays, thanks to spacious layouts as large as 64 square metres. The residences are equipped with kitchenettes and furnished with children’s bunk beds. All accommodation options come with a balcony, free Wi-Fi and Smart TVs.

Casual, classic and convenient dining options are available day and night, along with in-room dining served 24 hours a day. The crisply modern and laid-back restaurant UMI commands brilliant views from its sky deck perch. The UMI menu offers traditional Japanese cuisine including Ramen and Teppanyaki dishes, along with creative interpretations of Thai and European favourites.

Deluxe Seaview

In the lobby is Zing, a casual delicatessen and café that serves its signature Taiwanese-style Bubble tea and Matcha green tea throughout the day, along with a full menu of hot beverages, pastries and bakery items. Zing is a great spot for a relaxed, no-hassle lunch, with an excellent selection of sandwiches, snacks and fresh salads. Light bites, refreshments and cocktails are served poolside at Tropicana Pool Bar and at nearby Sky Bar.

Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites Sriracha is an inspired choice for off-site company meetings and events. Flexible multi-purpose space can be tailored to fit a variety of setups and layout formats, and Centara’s attentive, professional staff are on hand ensure a smooth experience all around.

The seafront Sriracha location is an ideal starting point for enjoying the area’s many attractions. Pattaya’s city centre is 45 minutes away by car, and the surrounding region is home to some of Thailand’s finest golf courses. Beach and coastal attractions, including Bang Saen Beach and Bang Phra Reservoir, are just a short drive from Sriracha.

Family Residence

“It is especially exciting to extend Centara’s footprint to a new Thai destination,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer, Centara Hotels and Resorts. “Sriracha continues to develop as a destination for tourism and business travel, and I am confident that the hotel’s prime beachfront location, excellent facilities and spectacular design will be especially pleasing to our guests.”

Dr. Nutsarai Chaijindaratana of Smile Condo (2011) Co., LTD, the hotel’s owner, commented, “We are delighted to see our vision transformed into a finished hotel now welcoming its first guests. Our partnership with Centara has been a positive experience throughout the development phase, and we look forward to seeing the hotel contribute to Sriracha’s success in the years ahead.”

Nepal promoted as a “Fountain of Buddhism” in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand

June 17, 2019 by PressEditor

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in coordination with Society of Travel and Tour Operators Nepal (SOTTO-Nepal), organized Nepal Sales Missions in Hanoi, Phnom Penh and Bangkok, the major cities of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand on June 10, 12 and 14, 2019 respectively. The Sales Missions were focused on promoting Nepal as a “Fountain of Buddhism” as well as a premiere holiday destination in the emerging source market.

‘Nepal Presentation’ featuring on major tourism attractions and activities of Nepal was made by NTB officials in the Nepal Evening Programs in Phnom Penh and Bangkok. The Presentation was also highlighted on Visit Nepal Year 2020 Campaign and Lifetime Experiences that tourists can have in Nepal. Nepal promotional video that was screened in the programs drew the attention of the audiences and awared them about destination Nepal. Mr. Ghanshyam Upadhyaya, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, in his remarks amid the audiences tried to enhance the confident of the local travel trade people by emphasizing the priority concern of Government of Nepal for tourism development. Nepal promotional video made by SOTTO-Nepal was also screened in the programs. Mr. Madhusudhan Upadhyaya, President of SOTTO-Nepal, addressing the audiences requested the local travel trade to join in hands with Nepali counterparts to sell Nepal as a destination choice for Buddhist pilgrims.

The participating travel trade companies from Nepal had business to business (B2B) meetings with the local buyers. The buyers were found interested in selling Buddhist site specific packages of Nepal. The meeting helped to enhance confident among the local outbound operators to keep Nepal in their travel itineraries.

In the Nepal Evening Program in Bangkok, His Excellency Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, expressing his satisfaction over the remarkable diplomatic relations existing between the countries since last 60 years, appealed the local travel agents to incorporate Lumbini in their outbound packages. Mr. Bikram Pandey, Goodwill Ambassador for Lumbini, had an insightful presentation on ‘Buddhist Circuits on Buddha’s Life across South Asia’. The program in Bangkok was coordinated by The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok.

Thus, the Sales Missions have provided an opportunity to showcase tourism products of Nepal amid a gathering of local media and outbound travel companies of those countries, to educate them about Nepal as a must travel destination and finally create a strong network among the operators. It is hoped that more tourists will be visiting from these countries in the year 2020, when Nepal is celebrating Visit Nepal Year 2020.

These three countries are Buddhist dominant countries. So, Nepal can be a must visit destination for people of these countries. In the year 2018 around 12,454 tourists from Vietnam, 3,790  from Cambodia and 53,250 from Thailand visited Nepal. Nepal is well connected with these countries via Bangkok. Nepal Airlines operates three flights a week in Kathmandu-Bangkok-Kathmandu Sector. Similarly, Thai Airways and Thai Lion Air operate daily flight in the sectors.

Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Managers Mr. K. B. Shah and Mr. Suman Ghimire. Similarly, Immediate Past President of SOTTO-Nepal Mr. Anil Lama and 1st Vice President of NATTA Mr. Achyut Prasad Guragain were the special delegates along with other delegates form Nepali travel trade companies.

Centara Marks Important Environmental Events with Beachfront Campaign and Plastic-hungry Sea Life Creatures

June 10, 2019 by PressEditor

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, is marking this year’s World Environment Day (5th June) and Ocean Day (8th June) events with a month-long campaign to raise awareness of the scourge of plastic waste while encouraging guests and staff to join the effort to rid beaches of discarded plastic trash.

The initiative features sculpted sea creature-cum-trash-bins named POP — short for “Plastic Only, Please” — that guests can “feed” the plastic waste they pick up in and around the beach.

Pop will be popping up at 12 Centara properties around Thailand and Maldives. Each time the plastic-hungry sea life creatures fill up with collected plastic trash, Centara’s waste management teams will remove the contents, weigh the trash and prepare it for sorting and delivery to local recycling facilities. Rather than adding more plastic garbage to further exacerbate local land pollution and fill nearby landfills, these plastic eating creatures will provide a first-line waste management filter, diverting reusable plastic materials to be recycled into new items instead of going straight to the garbage.
