UNWTO hopes to work with African Tourism Board

May 15, 2019 by PressEditor

African Tourism Board (ATB) Vice President Cuthbert Ncube recently joined ATB from the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), where he served as a Regional Vice Chair and Board member.

He told UNWTO in his resignation letter:  “I  have walked with great giants within the UNWTO that has become the harbour  and fountain of wisdom for me. I have learned a lot from the leadership under the previous Secretary General Taleb Rifai’s humility and perseverance as a mile road to lead such a diverse audience.

“The current Secretary General, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, who has stepped in the great shoes, his drive and energy and wealth of wisdom to drive this great organization to upper levels, especially embracing the private and public entities. I am humbled and appreciate every step we have walked together as a team.

“To the Board Members I want to salute each and every one of them; this pool of great leaders who each contributed on my journey in placing every brick and mortar that has cemented my individuality in making [me] who I am today.

“I have accepted the call from the African Tourism Board to serve as their Board Member, and, therefore, I felt obligated to communicate to your esteemed and request for your blessings as Kwela Fleet we will  remain as an Affiliate Member of the UNWTO, and my drive will be to continue working with UNWTO and find synergies between UNWTO and the African Tourism Board, as I will always be indebted to this great organization.

“I, therefore, want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the UNWTO  Secretary General, the team, and management.”

UNWTO responded: “We are very pleased to hear that you will be joining the African Tourism Board, and we hope that in your new position we will continue our fruitful relationship and continue to work together for the sustainable development of tourism in Africa.”

Founded in 2018, the African Tourism Board is an association that is internationally acclaimed for acting as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from, and within the African region. For more information and how to join, visit africantourismboard.com.

Rimini, 19th December 2018  – Focus on Germany at SIGEP. The International Trade Show of Artisan Gelato, Pastry and Bakery Production and the Coffee world, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, for its 40th edition – from 19th to 23rd January 2019 at Rimini expo centre – will propose a busy calendar of events and business opportunities involving the great European country.

Things will get under way with Going Global-focus Germany.  The meeting will be held on Monday 21st January 2019 with the Patronage of ITKAM – Italy’s Chamber of Commerce for Germany. An unmissable opportunity for trade members to obtain valuable information regarding the German market and discover the future scenarios that are outlining the global gelato trade.

Proceedings will be opened by Dario Olivier, the Chairman of UNITEIS (Association of Italian artisan gelato makers in Germany), Antonio Verga Falzacappa, founder of Sistema Gelato and SIGEP Brand Manager Gabriella De Girolamo.

The conference – moderated by journalist Ernesto Brambilla  of Dolcegiornale, a magazine dedicated to pastry and gelato professionals – will provide reports from Italian gelato chains of the calibre of La Romana, Dal Cin Eiscafè and Rosso Arancio, which have several sales outlets abroad, in particular in Germany. During the meeting, Elio Narducci, Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany, will present the exclusive research “Le 50 catene di gelaterie leader” (the 50 leading gelato parlour chains), carried out by the Chamber of Commerce Italian for Germany with the media partnership of Dolcegiornale.

He will be followed by Fabrizio Valente, Founder and Administrator of KIKI LAB, the institute/laboratory which supports retail companies, who will cover the issue “Retail Horizons and tips for the internationalization of gelato parlours”.

Plus, at SIGEP, space will be dedicated to Cerca il tuo Agente in Germania (Find your agent in Germany), a project organized with Agent 321 – the world’s largest network of Web sites dedicated to finding commercial agents throughout the world  – which will feature a specific focus on Germany.

The partnership with Agent 321 is therefore continuing in 2019 and foresees that all SIGEP exhibitors will have the possibility of publishing an ad for commercial agents according to country free of charge on the Web site, where they will be able to make contact with 390,000 Commercial Agents worldwide. A new feature of the 2019 edition of SIGEP is the initiative aimed at involving the network of agents in Germany.

In a dedicated area located in the central South Foyer there will be a delegation of German agents organized by Agent 321.
