Spring Has Arrived With New Cocktails at Empress by Boon in San Francisco

What better way to embrace the city of San Francisco’s (finally) gorgeous weather and more daylight than by sipping on Empress by Boon’s new spring inspired exceptional fresh cocktails while enjoying one of the best views of the city?

This is all best enjoyed before sitting down to experience Michelin-starred chef Ho Chee Boon’s signature prix fixe menu (starting at $108/person), a romantic date night while enjoying small bites, or drinks with friends in the Tea Lounge surrounded by a mix of historic and modern Chinatown architecture.

Curated by bar manager Emily Parian, the new cocktail menu features a host of refreshing shaken and stirred cocktails utilizing fresh, bright, and herbaceous ingredients that herald the spring season and complement Chef Boon’s seasonal dishes. Notable cocktails to enliven the tastebuds include Hierba Mala ($23) offering a clean and refreshing palette perfect for spring featuring Partida Blanco, mezcal, Brucato Chaparral, Thai basil, and lemon, Dear, My Friend ($18) with Red Blossom oolong tea infused Johnny Walker Black, lemon, orange, and milk, and Nanking Cocktail ($18) featuring fresh strawberries, duck fat washed Knob Creek Rye, and Sichuan bitters.

Emily also incorporates Red Blossom Tea Company seasonal teas into a selection of suitably named non-alcoholic drinks, such as Moth and Fern ($18) with Seedlip “Garden” black currant, lime, and Red Blossom chrysanthemum tea, and Watching the Grass Grow ($12) with Pu-er Red Blossom tea, Sichuan syrup, lime, and ginger.

Empress by Boon‘s stunning interior design features modern elements alongside restored features from the location’s predecessor – the iconic Chinatown landmark Empress of China. The restaurant boasts striking views of the district and city skyline from three vantage points, with each space designed to showcase the unique aspects of each perspective. Every design detail has been carefully chosen including fine tableware by RUYI and contemporary Chinese designs from French heritage brand LEGLE that have been designed exclusively for Empress by Boon.
