Located in the San Antonio, Texas area, Kidney and Hypertension Specialists has served the local area for over sixteen years. Amassing over twenty years of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. Szewc has served in his current capacity as Nephrologist since 2002.  Throughout his career, Dr. Szewc has attained extensive experience within the areas of kidneys, hypertension, chronic disease and anemia. Founder of Kidney and Hypertension Specialists in 2002, Dr. Szewc is revered for his work in the medical profession.  In addition to his work through Kidney and Hypertension Specialists, which is the first provider of home dialysis in the San Antonio area, Dr. Szewc serves as the medical director for two affiliated dialysis centers. A recognized scholar, Dr. Szewc has published works that center around renal stenting as well as distal embolization protection.

Throughout the course of his education and training, Dr. Szewc attained his Medical degree at Lublin Medical Academy. Thereafter, Dr. Szewc went on to complete a number of residencies, internships and fellowships, including: an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at UMASS Memorial Health Care, where he served as the Chief Resident; a Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Texas Science Center in San Antonio.

To further his professional development, Dr. Szewc is an affiliate of several organizations including Indigent Care, the Renal Physician Association, the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, the Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.

In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the field, Dr. Szewc was named a Top Doctor by Global Who’s Who; and is the recipient of the ERSD Network of Texas Superior Performance Award in Hemodialysis and the 2010 ESRD Fistula First Benchmark Facility Award, to name a few.

When not working, Dr. Szewc volunteers his time to local orphanages. He also enjoys traveling, skiing, tennis and outdoor sports, as well as spending time with family.
