Quito will promote attractions to the tourism industry in the U.S.

The Quito Tourism Board will participate in the 2018 Annual Conference and Marketplace of the U.S. Tour Operators Association (USTOA), which brings together the Tourism Industry and major North American travel operators. The event will take place from November 26 to 30, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona.

For the Ecuadorian capital, the participation at this event offers a fundamental opportunity for showcasing its attractions and promoting tourism, by strengthening the relationships between travel professionals and the Metropolitan District of Quito in the U.S. market.

At this event, Quito will be presenting its 2018 Digital Positioning Plan, which includes several elements: a new digital platform, where users can find everything about Quito, following the new travel trends and focuses on Quito as an inclusive city; a mobile application that allows travelers to discover the city before and during the trip, becoming the perfect travel companion. The video “Your story begins in Quito” shows the beauty travelers can find at every corner around Quito. This video and has been recognized with five international awards. All of this, driven by the new City Brand inspired by the icons that represent the identity of Quito.

These initiatives have the goal of reinforcing the leadership that Quito has obtained as the “Favorite Destination in South America”, being a city that offers adventure, world-class gastronomy and surprises visitors by its cultural offering.

Quito will be participating at the 2018 Annual Conference as an Associate Member, and interacting with travel professionals at the event’s Marketplace from November 28th to 30th.

In 2017, Quito received approximately 652 thousand tourists, of which 142,206 visitors came from the United States, representing 22% of the total visitors to the city. Canadian visitors accounted for 3% of all visitors (approximately 18,923 travelers)
