Nu Deco Ensemble Announces Performance With Ben Folds

MIAMI, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Nu Deco Ensemble, led by co-founders and artistic directors Sam Hyken and Jacomo Bairos, returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on Thursday, March 29 for a one night special performance, co-presented with the Arsht Center, featuring multi-platinum selling, singer/songwriter and producer Ben Folds (video link here).

The performance will begin with a new symphonic suite exploring the music of rock legends Queen by co-founder Sam Hyken, followed by the infamous ballet Petrushka by twentieth century composer Igor Stravinsky. Ben Folds will then join the ensemble for a set featuring some of his greatest works. Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation and has created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and collaborative records with artists from Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, to William Shatner. “I’m so looking forward to playing with my buds Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken, brilliant musicians who put together a rare kind of hybrid chamber orchestra, ahead of their time,” says Folds. In their third season of genre-bending performances as Miami’s 21^st-century orchestra, Nu Deco Ensemble has entered into an arts partnership with the Arsht Center that will allow the ensemble to continue growing its diverse audiences. “We are over the moon with Nu Deco’s new arts partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center. As a Homestead native, it has been my life’s dream to create something unique and special for Miami, the city that shaped and molded the artist I am today.
