BANGKOK, Thailand – Executive Chef Shaiful Kassim of Millennium Hilton Bangkok joined 21 chefs from the hospitality industry in Thailand and Thai Airways International to present their culinary talents, crafting 11-course epicurean menus in the 2019 Bangkok Chefs Charity fundraising gala dinner.
The gourmet menus use the best quality imported products alongside pesticide-free vegetables and ingredients from Chakrabandh Pensiri Centre for Plant Development in Chiang Rai, Chaipattana Foundation and Phufa Shop. All the produce projects are initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Currently in its 10th edition, the 2019 Bangkok Chefs Charity Fundraising Gala Dinner is organised annually by Gourmet One Food Services (Thailand) Co. Ltd., Thailand’s leading importer of premium food products. The annual event aims to raise funds for underprivileged children in the remote areas of Thailand.
Heidi Kleine-Moeller, General Manager of Millennium Hilton Bangkok, said, “I am delighted to extend our sincerest good wishes to the organisers and participants at Bangkok Chefs Charity Dinner 2019, presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It is an honour for us to be supporting such a prestigious event as it raises important funds for very noble charitable causes.”
“I am very proud to have Millennium Hilton Bangkok represented by our highly talented and broadly experienced Executive Chef Shaiful Kassim as part of an amazing team of culinary experts working together to showcase the very best of Thailand’s international cuisine,” said Kleine-Moeller .
“I am truly honoured to be representing Millennium Hilton Bangkok for the Bangkok Chefs Charity Dinner 2019. My experience with world-renowned chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Angela Hartnett has prepared me for such prestigious events. Most importantly, we wish to continue the noble work of raising funds to help children in need,” said Shaiful Kassim, executive chef, Millennium Hilton Bangkok.
The highlight of the fundraising event was the opportunity for dinner guests/philanthropists to make donations. In return for their generosity, the highest bidders will be presented with a formal gourmet dinner cooked by their preferred chefs at the bidder’s residence or venue of choice.
The 2019 Bangkok Chefs Charity Fundraiser event, graciously presided over by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, raised an impressive 44 million baht for charity, the highest amount the annual event has achieved so far. Since the inaugural Bangkok Chefs Charity, which took place in 2009, the organiser has presented all proceeds (without deductions for expenses) of more than 176 million baht. This total is derived from ticket sales and funds raised from the past ten events. The funds will be used to help needy schoolchildren in remote areas of Thailand by funding the construction of the Bangkok Chefs Charity Border Patrol Police School at Ban Mae Khor, Mae Charm District, Chiangmai Province, by providing scholarships and by purchasing teaching and learning materials and sports equipment.
“We should all be grateful for everything that we have in life and I believe it is the small things that we do that can really make a difference. Together, we can help improve the lives of these children who are the future generation of Thailand,” Executive Chef Shaiful added.
