KINGSTON, JAMAICA – October 22, 2024 – In a historic achievement for Jamaican motorsport, rising stars Senna Summerbell and Tommi Gore captured third place at the prestigious ADAC GT4 Germany series finale at the Hockenheimring, marking Jamaica’s first-ever podium finish in European GT4 racing.

The dynamic duo, known as the Reggae Racers, thrilled over 80,000 spectators with not only their podium finish in the first race but also an impressive Top 5 placement in the final race. Competing with the reigning champion team AVIA W&S Motorsport, Summerbell, 22, and Gore, 19, have written their names into international motorsport history.

“We chose the ADAC GT4 Germany because it’s one of the world’s fastest-growing GT championships,” said the young racers, whose fathers are also accomplished drivers. “The series offers excellent opportunities for both competitive racing and brand exposure on the prestigious DTM platform.”

Throughout the championship’s six race events across Germany and Austria from April to October 2024, the Reggae Racers showed remarkable progress. Initially competing in an Audi R8 LMS GT4, they later switched to a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, securing points in the final three events to finish 14th overall in the championship.

The Jamaica Tourist Board, along with S Hotels and Sandals Resorts, supported this groundbreaking venture, recognizing its unique opportunity to showcase Jamaica as both a world-class sporting nation and a premier vacation destination. During well-attended autograph sessions and race events, the Reggae Racers became natural ambassadors for the island, inviting racing enthusiasts to experience Jamaica’s legendary hospitality firsthand.

This achievement demonstrates Jamaica’s continued excellence in international sport. From athletics to bobsled, and now motorsport, our nation continues to break barriers and showcase Jamaican talent on the global stage.

The success of the Reggae Racers not only marks a milestone in Jamaican motorsport history but also opens new avenues for the sport’s development in the Caribbean region.
