Huangling is most known for its shaiqiu spectacle, where the locals sun dry harvests like chili peppers and pumpkin slices in bamboo baskets on rooves to preserve the foods in the humid climate. Strolling through the ancient village, visitors can also find celebrated ancient handcrafts like inkstone engraving, paper umbrellas, classic wood oil, and embroidery.

Huangling will also take part in the “Sino-Foreign most beautiful shooting location” contest at the 74th Venice International Film Festival. The competition will highlight the village’s serene natural scenery, rich history and folk traditions.
