Guam Tourism Industry Celebrates Collaboration and New Opportunities.
The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) proudly concluded its 2024 Seoul-Busan Roadshow, held on October 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul and October 16 at the Paradise Hotel in Busan. This dynamic two-city event brought together Guam’s key tourism stakeholders and Korean travel industry leaders, offering a platform for networking, celebration, and the unveiling of GVB Korea’s marketing strategy for FY2025.
With over 300 travel trade professionals and media representatives attending across both cities, the roadshow showcased the latest developments in Guam’s tourism industry. Leading the GVB delegation was Ho Sang Eun, Chairman of the GVB Korea Marketing Committee, along with Board Director and Mayor of Sinajana Robert Hofmann, Youth Board Director Michelle Merfalen, Director of Global Marketing Nadine Leon Guerrero, and other GVB representatives.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Eun reaffirmed GVB’s dedication to boosting air connectivity between Guam and Korea. He announced significant incentives for airlines to expand routes and highlighted GVB’s ongoing support for travel agencies, aiming to meet the strong demand for travel to Guam.
GVB Korea Country Manager Jay Park celebrated Guam’s achievements in FY2024, including an 11% increase of Korean visitors and a 27% increase of visitors overall compared to the same period in FY2023. He also announced the launch of the new Guam-CNMI Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system, which eliminates the paper Form I-736 and improves efficiency with the new online application process, enhancing the traveler experience. Mr. Park emphasized GVB’s plans to aggressively promote major local sports events, such as the Tour of Guam and the Ko’Ko’ Road Race, to tap into the growing sports tourism market.
The event provided ample opportunities for Guam’s tourism partners and Korean travel industry professionals to strengthen their ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.
