Bangkok, 09 November, 2020 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is proud to announce this year’s ‘Glorious of Ayutthaya Fair’ will take place at the Ayutthaya Historical Park from 11-20 December.
Another wonderful programme of events and activities has been created to celebrate the history and significance of this ancient Thai capital. Founded around 1350, Ayutthaya became the capital after Sukhothai and by 1700 was said to be the largest city in the world with one million inhabitants.
The historic city of Ayutthaya was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Nowadays, the Ayutthaya Historical Park features the remains of temples and palaces that stand in magnificent testimony to the city’s former days of glory.
Activities include colourful processions, a Red Cross Fair, Thai Agricultural Products Fair, the Retro Market with its wonderful ‘retro’ atmosphere, exhibitions on Kings Rama IX and X, an OTOP (One Tambon One Product) Fair featuring locally made items, and tram and boat tours. Folk performances and other such activities will again be a popular component of this year’s event.
