Direct Taipei-Guam Flight Opens Up New Vacation Destinations

Guam Media Tours Taiwan to Boost Two-Way Travel.

The Guam Visitor Bureau (GVB) is pleased to announce that the long-awaited, new direct flights between Taipei and Guam are now available to travelers. The flights, operated by United Airlines, run twice a week, departing Taipei on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00am (TPE) and arriving into Guam at around 4:50pm (GUM).  The short 3.5-to-4-hour daytime flight makes the visit to the “American destination in Asia” more easily accessible.

The inaugural flight to and from Taipei and Guam took place on April 2, 2025.  The Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Guam, the Guam International Airport Authority, Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), Taipei International Airport, and United Airlines joined GVB Guam and Taiwan in celebratory send-offs and welcoming of the first flights.

Members of Guam’s local media traveled on this first flight to experience the food, culture, and activities that Taiwan has to offer. The media stayed in Taipei City and toured Taiwan for 3 days, documenting their experience and sharing their findings with residents of Guam through tv, radio and digital news channels. Educating Guam residents about the travel offerings available in Taiwan will encourage them to visit Taiwan to balance and sustain the new direct flights over time.

Thanks to United Airlines, GVB Taiwan, and the Taiwan Council of Indigenous People (CIP), the Guam media were able to visit a tribal community in Wulai village, the Taiwan Adventist Hospital, National  Palace Museum, Taipei 101 skyscraper and shopping centers in Xinyi, popular Raohe and Shilin night markets, and phenomenal restaurants such as the famous Din Tai Fung and Xin Dian Hotpot. They experienced the multiple transportation options, such as the Metro subway and Maokong gondola cable cars which run through temples, the city zoo, and coffee plantations. Everywhere they went, the group was able to enjoy a cross-cultural experience and share their Håfa Adai spirit with the people.

These are only a few of the unique points about Guam that tourists look forward to. It is an ideal destination for a multitude of traveler types:  Adventure-seekers, sports enthusiasts, R&R vacationers, honeymooners, babymooners, family and friend trips, company incentive groups, executive travel, or school groups. In Guam, there is something for everyone and all are welcomed by the island community.
