Dialpad Debuts New Integration with Hangouts Chat

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Dialpad, the pure-cloud business communications provider, and a Recommended for G Suite Partner since 2015, today announced a new integration with Hangouts Chat. Chat is an intelligent and secure collaboration tool now available to G Suite users and built to bring teams together. From direct messages to group conversations, the combination of Chat and Dialpad and UberConference provides an integrated experience that makes team collaboration easy and efficient.

With the new integration, Chat will provide easy access to Dialpad and UberConference for users to quickly move from G Suite’s workstream activity to engage in voice calling using Dialpad, or immediately start a conference call using the UberConference collaboration functionality.

“The integration between Hangouts Chat and Dialpad is making one-on-one and team conversations easier, so users can choose to easily initiate a live conversation from within their existing work platform, versus an impersonal chat session,” said Dialpad Co-founder and Vice President of Engineering, Brian Peterson. “Pairing Dialpad’s technology with Hangout Chats allows users to easily maneuver between talk and text, as well as search G Suite for files in-stream, providing a nice compliment to everyday workflow so employees can focus on work and productivity, not mastering yet another technology.”

With the recent addition of Chat integrations, G Suite is introducing a new way to merge two services, thus underscoring the value of combining services from Dialpad with Google Cloud. Access to Dialpad and UberConference is immediately available for use from within Hangouts Chat in the browser and mobile application.

“Our two services will continue to operate intelligently together as we take greater advantage of Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities, including those of many third-party apps and bots that are part of the Google Cloud ecosystem. And with Hangouts Chat already Enterprise Ready it’s easy to manage functions like sign-on, compliance, and the security of data for an enterprise customer of any scale,” added Peterson.

Dialpad was selected to be part of a select group of ISVs who were provided early access to Google’s Developer Preview for Hangouts Chat. Together with the G Suite team, Dialpad’s developers incorporated the functionality that provides companies of all sizes a more tightly integrated business communications experience. Built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Dialpad delivers a uniquely native, integrated business communications solution with Google.

Worldwide, Dialpad has helped more than 50,000 customers move their daily business communications to the cloud, avoiding the use of any on-premise legacy PBX hardware, with 85 percent of customers eliminating their desk phones. Dialpad’s software-only platform is built on GCP and allows companies, from small storefronts to large enterprises, to instantly launch, provision and scale their communications platform making voice, video, messaging and meetings available on any device.
