Deputy Prime Minister I. Chester Cooper to Lead Bahamian Delegation in Promoting Investment in Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Development

Bahamas Business and Investment Forum 2024 to Highlight Key Growth Opportunities in Washington, D.C.

The Hon. I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation for The Bahamas, will lead a Bahamian delegation to the Bahamas Business and Investment Forum 2024 in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. The forum, designed to drive economic growth and highlight the wide range of investment opportunities in The Bahamas, will take place at the University Club of Washington, D.C., on Thursday, September 12.

Hosted by the Bahamas Embassy in Washington, D.C., the forum is themed “Rediscovering The Bahamas: Its Potential and Investment Opportunities.”

“The Government of The Bahamas is committed to maintaining its position as a premier destination for both tourism and investment,” said DPM Cooper. “This forum offers a platform for investors to explore opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, maritime, and agriculture.”

The Bahamas has long fostered a competitive investment climate, with the Bahamas Investment Authority (BIA) at the forefront of efforts to encourage economic growth, job creation, and investor confidence. The government remains committed to balancing the interests of the Bahamian community, business partners, and visitors.

Accompanying DPM Cooper in the delegation are the Hon. Frederick Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Hon. Michael Halkitis, Minister of Economic Affairs; and senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation.

The forum will feature four panel discussions focusing on sectors vital to The Bahamas’ economic growth, including sustainable development, technological innovation, and the nation’s progress toward becoming a digital society.
