This summer, Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg is immersed in two world passions –soccer and ballet– as it is hosting guests at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and presenting an exhibition dedicated to the Year of Russian Ballet.
During the official Year of Ballet, running throughout Russia in 2018, the hotel has opened a dedicated exhibition inside the unique historical museum that sits inside the hotel.
As the only hotel in the city housing a historical museum, the exhibition highlights the lives and work of legendary Russian ballet dancers of the 20th century.
These include Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, Anna Pavlova, Vaclav Nijinsky and Galina Ulanova. The exhibition includes costumes, rare photos, posters, and personal belongings of the famous dancers that graced the world stage.
Running until December 2018, a guided tour of the exhibition is available on the second floor of the hotel. The museum is open every week, from Wednesday to Sunday.
The exhibition is curated by The Actors Samoilov Museum Apartment as the museum space occupies the former apartment of the Samoilov family.
