City Parks Foundation Announces SummerStage Concert Featuring Renowned Cuban Artist Silvio Rodríguez for his first visit to New York City in seven years

NEW YORK, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — City Parks Foundation, En Otro Tono, and La Marqueta Retona are thrilled to announce that renowned Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez will perform a SummerStage Concert in Central Park on September 10, 2017. The concert will mark the first time in 7 years that the celebrated leader of the Cuban “Nueva Trova” movement will perform in the United States. Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and guitarist Tito Auger will open the show.

The iconic poet and guitarist will perform songs from his latest album, Amoríos (2015), alongside his classic hits. He will be accompanied by Rachid López (guitar), Maikel Elizarde (tres), Niurka González (flutist and clarinetist), Oliver Valdés (drummer and percussionist), Jorge Reyes (double bassist), Jorge Aragón (pianist), and Emilio Vega (vibraphonist).
