China Poker Games (CPG) Announces 2017 Dates

In order to promote “Several Opinions of the State Council on promoting the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island” and “Development Outline of Hainan International Tourism Island Construction,” to put it into practice that “trial implements some international tourism and sports entertainment programs”, to implement Hainan Province Government’s “Policies on Supporting and Accelerating the Development of Cultural Industry”, and to speed up the development of Hainan Cultural and Sports industry, approved by the Hainan Provincial Government. Therefore, the General Administration of Sports-Chess & Cards Management Center, Hainan Sports Association and Hainan Poker Association, and Hainan tourism development commission and The Government of Sanya decided to set up “China Poker Games”(CPG) in 2012. CPG has become the largest and most influential international poker tournament in China in the past five years, and attracts a large number of tourists, driving up the development of the local sports tourism industry. A poker tournament is a perfect combination of sports and fashion in an annual party.

CPG has welcomed over 5,000 players, and over 20,000 of their friends and relatives come to travel in Hainan, sending hotel room occupancy numbers to more than 100,000, directly and indirectly driving more than 600 million yuan on tourism consumption. It is an outstanding contribution for sports tourism economic development in Hainan Province. Based on the successful expericences from the past four years, this event in August 2017 will have a better development.
