Tourism Seychelles successfully held the ‘2024 Seychelles Destination Workshop’ at the President Hotel in Seoul, South Korea, on Friday, September 27, 2024. The workshop aimed to showcase the hidden gems of Seychelles while repositioning the destination to South Korean travel agents.
Representing the Tourism Seychelles team were Mrs. Amia Jovanovic-Desir, Manager for Southeast Asia, and Ms. Jenny Adrienne, who led the workshop. The event, attended by 50 agents, kicked off with a welcome speech by Mrs. Jovanovic-Desir, followed by a screening of destination videos. She also provided key updates and insights about Seychelles, highlighting its unique appeal as an Indian Ocean destination.
Joining the team was Mr. Brian Kim, representing Constance Properties in Seychelles, who introduced the luxury accommodations available on Mahé and Praslin. Ms. Hyunjoo Lee from Qatar Airways shared details on flight schedules to Seychelles, and Mr. Lee Howard Jungchan from Korea Travel News offered his personal travel experiences after visiting Seychelles for the second time.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Mrs. Jovanovic-Desir stressed the importance of reconnecting with the trade and media, reaffirming Seychelles’ status as a top destination for South Korean travelers.
“It was crucial for us to host this workshop, as many agents we previously worked with have changed professions post-COVID.”
“Our strategy is now to encourage South Korean tour operators and media to focus on the diverse travel segments that Seychelles offers beyond just honeymooners.”
