Guam Visitors Bureau Makes Waves in Seoul with Premier Pop-Up Event and Sports Engagement

The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its inaugural Guam pop-up event in Seoul.

Designed to embody GVB’s current Korea campaign, “Color of Guam,” the event served as an immersive platform showcasing Guam’s diverse attractions and cultural richness.

Held at The Bom Gallery in Seongsu-dong from May 10 to 19, the “Color of Guam” pop-up event transported visitors on a captivating journey, offering a unique glimpse of Guam’s vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality right in the heart of Seoul.

From a mesmerizing media art space to a captivating historical exhibit, visitors delved deeper into what makes Guam a premier travel destination, gaining insights into its scenic beauty and rich heritage.

Opening day saw an impressive turnout of local media representatives and influencers, including The New Grey (461K followers), Peppermint (148K followers), and Rami (124K followers). Guests were treated to live performances by Chamorro musician Vince San Nicolas and had a chance to take photos with Guam’s beloved ko’ko bird mascot, adding to the festive atmosphere. Overall, the pop-up event attracted over 8,500 visitors in 10 days, garnered more than 3,200 social media posts, and was featured in over 25 news articles, generating approximately $2,101,045 in total media value.

GVB Engages Sports Enthusiasts at “White Open Seoul”

In addition to its groundbreaking pop-up event, the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) made waves at the “2024 White Open Seoul” tennis event hosted by Fila Korea. From May 11 to 12, GVB set up shop at the Olympic Park Peace Square in Songpa-gu, Seoul, seizing the opportunity to connect with tennis enthusiasts and spotlight Guam’s diverse sports offerings.

As the sole representative from the tourism sector, GVB’s presence contributed to the event’s success, drawing in approximately 7,000 visitors over two days, marking a significant 20% increase from the previous year’s attendance. Through a promotional booth and the distribution of tennis-themed giveaways, GVB effectively showcased Guam as a prime destination for sports tourism, reinforcing its commitment to expanding Guam’s presence in the sports market.

Eun Ho Sang, Chairman of GVB’s Korea Marketing Committee, expressed enthusiasm about the bureau’s multifaceted approach, stating, “The Guam Visitors Bureau successfully concluded its first-ever pop-up event, expanding our reach to new audiences. Additionally, we deepened our engagement within the sports market through participation in sporting events in cooperation with a renowned consumer brand like Fila Korea. Moving forward, we are committed to not only hosting innovative offline events but also providing opportunities for a broader range of consumers to experience Guam firsthand.”
