The eight properties located in Mauritius, La Réunion and the Maldives are LUX* Belle Mare, LUX* Le Morne, LUX* Grand Gaube, Tamassa, Merville Beach, LUX* Saint. Gilles, Hôtel Le Récif and LUX* South Ari Atoll.

LUX* Sustainability Committee
The Sustainability Committee works in concert on the Group’s triple bottom line focused projects, ensuring a certain degree of standardization across the company, all while respecting the specificities of the various destinations. The committee shares support for each other, preparing together for audits via web conference and in person meetings, sharing best practices and ideas. The committee under the aegis of the Group Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Ms. Vishnee Sowamber consists mainly of Quality Assurance and Training Managers, already deeply enthusiastic about sustainable development. Their commitment and relentless on-site support ensures progress on all sustainability aspects and their Ray of Light motivates those around them.
Mauritius
In Mauritius, LUX* and the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation distribute 1,200 endemic plants to team members, the local community, schools, NGOs and stakeholders. In addition, LUX* Corporate & Resorts has joined forces with UNDP GEF and FORENA to plant 140 endemic plants at a historical site in the city of Port Louis. LUX* also supports coral farming in the Blue Bay area to preserve the diverse marine life.

Reunion Island
LUX* Saint Gilles and Hôtel Le Récif support the NGO, ReefCheck France, financially to promote their ROUTE DU CORAIL© project which operates two stations that support the sustainable development of the reef and its ecosystem. LUX* Saint Gilles also hosts the Reserve Marine de La Reunion to educate guests and team members about aquatic fauna and flora conservation.
Maldives
LUX* South Ari Atoll (Maldives) is equipped with an on-site Marine Biology Centre to study and protect the native whale shark population. The Marine Biologist, recognized as a specialist on whale shark protection by Maldivian authorities, educates guests on eco tours and supports ongoing scientific research. Centre staff are integral to removing ghost nets from the sea, which are deadly to many aquatic creatures and have created an artificial reef to support marine life. The Centre supports the Olive Ridley Project (Marine Conservation Charity), Maldives Whale Shark Research Program (Marine Conservation Charity), Manta Trust (Marine Conservation Charity) and Shark Watch Maldives.
