“In addition to the improvements this plan will bring to American aviation, SWAPA and pilots across the U.S. continue to fight against international threats to our industry,” continued Weaks. “Flag of Convenience schemes that circumvent our laws and agreements are a continual battle and we are in full support of current proposed legislation in H.R. 2150 that will protect U.S. aviation jobs by halting any future actions by foreign carriers to bypass international agreements.”
SWAPA is encouraged to have an America-first president who won’t allow foreign competitors to undermine the system to the detriment of American industry and the American workforce. We hope the FAA reauthorization will include language to prevent foreign competitors from rigging the system to plant unfair flags-of-convenience ownership models on our shores.
