Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, to attend the 20th Annual Jesse H. Jones Award Luncheon

HOUSTON, March 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The World Affairs Council of Greater Houston is proud to announce that Jeff Miller, President and CEO of Halliburton, is being recognized as its 2018 International Citizen of the Year. Mr. Miller will be presented this award at the 20th Annual Jesse H. Jones Award Luncheon on April 10th at The Post Oak Hotel in Houston, Texas. Mayor Sylvester Turner will be present at the luncheon and the keynote address will be delivered by Jim Crane, chairman and CEO of Crane Capital Operations and the chairman and owner of the 2017 World Series Champions, the Houston Astros.

Each year, the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston honors a business or public leader who, in the spirit of Jesse and Mary Gibbs Jones, contributes to the international spirit of the region. Past recipients include: James A. Baker, 61st Secretary of State; Rex Tillerson, former CEO of ExxonMobil and 69th Secretary of State; and Jeff Immelt, former chairman and CEO of General Electric.

Mr. Miller leads the Halliburton executive committee and serves on the company’s board of directors. Mr. Miller has served in several roles, including Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Crane is founder of Crane Capital Group, Inc., an investment management company, and is the proud owner of the 2017 World Series Champions, the Houston Astros.

Mayor Sylvester Turner serves as the Executive Officer of the City of Houston. Mayor Turner is responsible for seeing that all laws and ordinances are enforced, advising City Council, appointing department heads and serving as the chief representative of the city of Houston.
