Brand Power in Qingdao West Coast New Area

LONDON, March 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — New economic development in Qingdao West Coast New Area has drawn in new brands, which, in turn, have stimulated the establishment and development of new industries. The accelerated process of economic development has endowed the area with competitive advantages empowered by brand building.

A marine-based economy is the dominant economic system of the area. The principal industries that have developed in the area include marine bio-medicines and marine equipment manufacturing, high-tech shipbuilding, shipping services, and coastal tourism, while a seawater desalinization sector is in the process of emerging. Construction of a series of new facilities is underway, including a marine diesel engine manufacturing center, a national marine gene bank, while several industrial parks and leading firms with a focus on marine-related products and services have located their operations to the area. The many activities that have taken place in the area since its being approved as the ninth state-level new district by the State Council of China in 2014 have already resulted in the city of Qingdao earning three new designations: World-Class Ship and Marine Equipment Base, National Marine Life Sciences Industry Base and Leading Domestic Sea Water Desalination Industry Base.
