The Chicago School Opens New Campus In Dallas, TX In Response To Community Demand For Degree Programs

LOS ANGELES, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), one of the leading nonprofit institutions devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral health sciences is expanding to Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, in Fall 2018. To celebrate and engage the communities surrounding the campus location, a grand opening celebration is planned for April 19, 2018. The event will feature speaker Tim Branaman, Ph.D., Chair of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and a ribbon cutting ceremony facilitated by the Richardson and Plano Chambers of Commerce. Elected officials, dignitaries, members in the psychology and behavioral health professions, and TCSPP alumni who reside in the area, are among the many important community members who have been invited to the event.

Based on demands by the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area for programs in psychology and behavioral health sciences, the campus will initially offer three of its existing degree programs: M.S. Applied Behavior Analysis, M.A. Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. Enrollment is now open, with a number of additional programs offered in the coming enrollment cycles.

“We are excited to bring our programs and our unique model of education—known as The Engaged Practitioner Model—to the greater Dallas area,” said Lance Garrison, Ph.D., Campus Director. “The U.S. Bureau for Labor Statistics predicts faster than average growth in the need for psychologists through 2026. This is why we created a suite of psychology and behavioral health programs to meet the education needs and demands of the communities we serve,” he explained.

“The Chicago School’s impact has been felt nationwide as a result of our exceptional academic program offerings and our community engagement model. Annually, we yield over 1.2 million hours of community-based impact services through our partnerships with more than 500 nonprofit agencies across the country and additional community service initiatives,” said Michele Nealon, Psy.D, President, The Chicago School. “With nearly 40 years as one of the nation’s premier psychology institutions, we are looking forward to our expansion into the State of Texas to help continue to produce graduates who are leading agents of change in their communities and in the mental health field.”
