MICE access – The Channel Manager of the MICE industry

May 31, 2018 by PressEditor

MICE Access

The “MICE Channel Manager” MICE access acts as a white label provider for agencies and
enables them to take the online route.

The “MICE Channel Manager” is used by various types of agencies. The basis for this is the
unique RFP tool. Thanks to effective RFP processes, even complex conferences can be
planned within a few minutes.

More than 17,500 hotels and locations worldwide are available to the provider for group and
conference enquiries. The complete inquiry, offer, and booking process takes place online in the
“White Label Version” or via the unique JSON interface to your own platform.

What are the advantages of MICE access for agencies?

A big advantage of MICE access is the convenient handling of the platform. It can be operated
intuitively and is completely self-explanatory. There is no need for training. Thanks to a
transparent overview, all offers are presented to you in a comparable way.

As a white label provider, MICE access enables agencies to take the online route. However, the
platform does not have to be used exclusively but can also be used as a supplement.

With the help of the interface to a technology partner, up to 10 rooms can also be booked
directly online. More than 500,000 hotels with live availability are available for live bookings
worldwide.

The selection of the different locations is large. From classic to unusual, there is something for
every taste. As a “White Label Partner” of MICE access, you can obtain all hotel data via the
JSON interface, no matter from which area. Here it is also possible for providers to build their
own portals.

Half Moon takes care of all the little ones

May 31, 2018 by PressEditor

Half Moon

Half Moon is set on 400 acres of manicured grounds with two miles of beachfront and views of the Caribbean Sea. Guests can enjoy the extensive facilities at the property including the largest spa oasis in Jamaica, an 18-hole championship golf course, private equestrian center and the Sugar Mill restaurant.

Green Globe recently recertified Half Moon, awarding it an outstanding compliance score of 88%.

Sandro Fabris, General Manager at the resort said, “As a company that is committed to sustainable tourism, we are happy to have successfully completed the re-certification program with Green Globe. The environment is the core of our business and our continual efforts are a small price to pay to ensure that we look after and preserve it. This achievement will also serve as a reward to our hardworking staff members who make certain that we reuse, recycle and conserve in every possible way that we can.”

Half Moon management and team have focused on environmental and community initiatives over the past year. Since 2015, as part of its green practices the resort has undertaken a turtle-watching program that allows critically endangered Hawksbill Turtles a safe journey from beaches to the sea. The program is conducted for approximately seven months of the year and involves creating the best environment for the turtles to safely lay their eggs, the identification and monitoring of nests and finally the careful release of hatchlings to the sea. Information collected is shared with the local environmental agency to help with the tracking of the species.

During last year’s turtle nesting season (June 2016 – April 2017), Half Moon released 4600 hatchlings from 46 known nests. It was certainly an unforgettable experience for guests to witness as families across the resort happily gathered to cheer the turtles on their maiden voyage to sea. During the nesting season, Half Moon staff and guests are alerted to possible nesting sites and reminded of best practices regarding turtle safety.

In the wider community, the SOS Children’s Village has been a part of Half Moon’s philanthropic activities since 1972. The NGO provides a home for orphaned and abandoned children. Recently, Half Moon fully refurbished accommodation for the children and their caregivers. The property also happily continues the tradition of providing monthly financial assistance to maintain the Half Moon House along with other administrative costs. Mentorship programs as well as the opportunity for outstanding children to enjoy a day of fun at the resort are some of the other monthly activities provided. Half Moon donates annual Christmas treats and regularly organizes special events in aid of children on the island.

To minimize negative environmental impacts, the resort recycles used cooking oil through RYCo Jamaica Ltd that is used locally as a raw material to manufacture animal feed. Almost 5 tons of paper, cardboard and plastic have also been collected for recycling since the start of the year. Furthermore, kitchen waste is recycled by Carib Share Bio-Gas. The company operates anaerobic digesters to convert biodegradable waste into biogas used for the generation of electricity.

Corinthia Hotel London launches 11 new suites

May 31, 2018 by PressEditor

Corinthia Hotel London

Corinthia Hotel London has announced that they will be launching eleven new ‘Garden’ and ‘London’ suites, available to book starting June 11, 2018, offering guests a wider range of luxurious suites to choose from when staying at the flagship property. These new suites are the first product enhancement at the property since its opening seven years ago.

“We service a discerning traveler who wants something unique alongside the most up to-date technology,” said Managing Director of Corinthia Hotel London, Thomas Kochs. “It’s about an intelligent use of space.”

“We have become known for our fabulous River and Penthouse suites and seven years on from opening, we want to continue to strengthen our position and present a new product in the market,” continued Thomas. “We are a hotel that never stands still and continually upgrades our product to suit our guests’ evolving tastes and needs.”

The London Suite is inspired by a day in the capital; the light, fresh interior pays homage to modern living, with contemporary amenities and state-of-the-art facilities. Art is a key focus, and featured artwork and sculptures from the Cubism era grace the 1130ft.² dual aspect suite. The space has been designed with privacy in mind, and for guests wishing to entertain there are doorways to each functional space and the option of two further adjoining bedrooms. Complementary butler service is also included with any stay in the London Suite.

The Garden Suite is designed with a nod to the quintessential British garden and overlooks a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Accents of verdant green, in soft furnishings and live planting, create a tranquil setting. The botanical color scheme and texture runs throughout the 699ft.² suite, encouraging guests to relax as the doors open directly into a living area with a feature fireplace and the main seating area which sweeps around it.

Designed by G.A. Design, the new suites complement the existing suites and seven penthouses which evoke an elegant residential style, with expansive outside terraces complete with exceptional and previously unseen views across the capital.

“We created a world-class, five-star luxury hotel for the 21st century in the style of a grand English home,” explains Edward Davies, Managing Director of G.A. Design London. “We set out to create two new and unique types of suites offering contemporary amenities and state of the art facilities to attract the most discerning of client. Art is a key focus of both new suite categories, with feature artwork and sculptures. G.A have curated a set of artistic spaces which we plan to build over time into a full-blown art collection.”

G. A. Design worked hard to create spaces that feel homely, refined, understated and elegant. The new suites are grand in design, using luxurious textiles, wall-coverings, butter-soft leathers and beautiful crafted woods. All furniture has been manufactured in the UK and lighting fixtures are from Wales. A separate living room, over-sized bed, marble bathroom with underfloor heating, built-in TV over the bathtub and a tropical rain shower are just some of the features that travelers can expect.

Salinas brings to the LA Chamber an ability to understand the needs, challenges and aspirations of businesses of all types and sizes based on her extensive private sector experience ranging from corporations to start-ups in a cross-section of industries. Her decades of financial expertise and business management includes experience in leading both major Southern California corporations and small businesses in corporate governance, audit and compliance, and regulatory matters. She is currently the President and Founder of Salinas Consulting, a finance and accounting project management firm.

Prior to launching her business in 2006, Salinas held financial leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company for nearly 11 years. She also developed public accounting experience working with Ernst & Young LLP. In addition to serving as Director and former Chairwoman of ProAmérica Bank, Salinas is the Chair of the Board of Regents at Loyola Marymount University, her alma mater. She also serves on the Board of Directors at UnidosUS and brings deep ties to the local education community with a board position at Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine.

“Maria has the unique combination of financial acumen and sound leadership skills paired with an entrepreneurial spirit that makes her the perfect choice to lead the Chamber,” said Michelle Kerrick, Board Chair for the Chamber. “On top of this, she has deep community involvement and an insurmountable passion for seeing this city prosper well into the future. As a lifelong Angeleno, we are confident Maria will champion diversity and bring our communities closer together.”

Salinas’ varied experience in the private sector with a major corporation, as an entrepreneur, a corporate director and community and civic leader, along with her clear leadership skills and passion for Los Angeles made her the unanimous choice of a Search Committee comprised of members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee of the Board of Directors as well as independent non-chamber members.

“As the first new president of the Chamber in over 12 years, we didn’t want to leave any stone unturned in our search for the best candidate,” said Jerry Neuman, Co-Chair of the Search Committee and incoming Board Chair for the Chamber. “Over the past six months, we conducted an expansive national search to obtain a wide variety of qualified candidates and sought input from all key stakeholders on the characteristics and qualifications they’d like to see in the next president,” Neuman continued. “As we went through this process, it was clear that we had found our president in Maria as she met all of these qualifications and more.”

“I am excited and honored for the opportunity to build upon the great progress the Chamber has made in Los Angeles and lead it into its next chapter,” said Salinas. “Throughout my career, I have used my financial expertise and business acumen to lead and create change and make a lasting impact both in business and in the community. I look forward to working alongside the talented staff and Board of Directors to continue to carry out the Chamber’s important mission of championing economic prosperity and quality of life for the Los Angeles region.”

In addition to her professional experience, Salinas is active in many charities and civic organizations and is known for her history of community engagement.
