Meishang Group will continue to work as well as Zahara to build up the initial requirements of Chinese travellers so as to attract and sustain a dramatic growth in its Chinese tourism. Subsequently, this can have the added advantage of driving the inward investment and job creation that is experienced far away. Peter Lim, CEO, Meishang International Group, stated.
In line with the Ministry of Tourism’s objectives, Over per year zahara and Meishang Group have already been working together to advertise Chinese tourists to Oman for. Regular visits by Meishang officers and farm trips organised have led to the first band of 40 plus tourists visiting Oman. You can find plans for many more groups this year.
Salim Adi Al Mamari, director general of promotions at the Ministry of Tourism, said: “This visit is probably the outcomes of marketing efforts created by the ministry last month to attract the Chinese tourism market. It has organised promotional workshops in Guangzhou and Beijing, in cooperation with the tourism partners of Oman. These efforts were designed for introducing Chinese travel and tourism companies and Chinese media concerning the places of interest of the Sultanate and prominent offers, programmes, facilities and services available there.”
Al Mamari further said: “We appreciate the role and efforts of the Omani private sector organisations to advertise tourism of the Sultanate, particularly Zahara Tours alongside pioneering Chinese private investment firm Meishang International Group, for hosting and organising such delegations. It was a significant support for the ministry’s efforts to attract targeted tourism markets and introduce Oman’s tourism product.”
The growing trend amongst Chinese tourists would be to look for new and exciting destinations. Oman, using its rich culture, history, natural drive and beauty towards sustainable eco-tourism has the capacity to end up being the target destination for Chinese tourists, Gautam Broota, CEO of Zahara Tours, stated.
The increased disposable income and an evergrowing trend in experience-based travel are driving exponential outbound tourism growth from China. Some 154 million Chinese tourists are forecast to visit in 2018 internationally. Each traveller having a higher purchasing power currently spends averaging US$5,600 on overseas travel annually.
