After completing your breakfast at the hotel, your most-awaited Angkor tour begins. At first, you will explore Angkor Thom by entering through the grand South Gate which has 216 enigmatic faces of The Bayon at its center and is the last capital of the once great Khmer Empire. Also, don’t forget to visit the Elephant Terrace and Terrace of the Leper King before calling off your morning tour.

After feeding your hunger-stricken tummy, you can continue your visit to the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the gigantic creepers and roots of enormous fig trees and visiting the most renowned temple: Angkor Wat, famous for its splendor and beauty. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world which narrates stories from Hindu mythology and runs along the outer gallery walls. You can then end your Day 2 tour by dining at a local restaurant or visit the bars for soothing cool drinks or shop at Angkor Night Market.

DAY 3: Banteay Srei Temple Angkor Wat

You can begin your Day 3 trip by heading through the rural countryside to the small and beautiful Banteay Srey temple. The temple is largely built of pink sandstone with clear and detailed carvings and better survives the rigors of time. Also known as the pink temple or the citadel of women, the temple is one of the highlights of Angkor. The pink color of the limestone and the elaborate decorative carvings of many devatas grace the temple’s walls. This Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva and is wonderfully preserved and many of its carvings are three-dimensional. You can then quench your pangs of hunger by having lunch at Thailand’s any local restaurant.

Post lunch you can continue your visit to Pre Rup which is traditionally believed to be a funerary temple and the state temple of Rajendravarman II. The architectural style of the temple is very similar to that of the East Mebon with the major difference being the stepped pyramid that is missing in the East Mebon temple. The brick and laterite structure gives a glimpse of the five mountain peaks of the sacred mountain Mount Meru.

DAY 4: And Your Final Destination – Tonle Sap Lake

On the final day of your tour, you will be then heading towards Tonle Sap Lake, dominating the map of Cambodia as the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. This is the second most popular attraction in Siem Reap, after Angkor Wat. While here, you will observe the human occupations at the edges of the lake being similarly distinctive with towering stilted houses, huge fish traps, floating villages, and a life deeply intertwined with the wildlife, the fish, the lake, and the cycles of rising and falling water.

Once back on the dry land, you will have the chance to stroll through Psar Chas, an old bustling market where you will find your pick of souvenirs to treat your loved ones back home.
