Zimbabwean-based airline fastjet announced that they received their sixth 90% and above rating this year for all flights during August.
The value airline’s punctuality is one of the top in the world when measured against flightstats.com, a good feat for an airline celebrating its third birthday next month. Last year, local airline FlySafair came out on top as the most on-time airline in the world, with a 96,9% average rating according to air travel data company OAG.
They recently launched a new route between Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe earlier this year, and is currently running four routes in total out of its hub Harare including to Victoria Falls, Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam, and carries about 40 000 passengers per month.
“Movement of people and goods between economic and tourism hubs contributes substantially to growth, opportunity and connecting friends and family. We remain committed to be a catalyst to Zimbabwe’s sustained growth today, tomorrow and into the future,” says Hein Kaiser, spokesperson for fastjet.
A recent internal survey at the airline also showed that Zimbabweans rated fastjet’s customer service as ‘really good’, especially after introducing the inclusion of a first bag and a light snack on most routes. More initiatives like this are being planned for the future.
Kaiser also adds to start booking early for the upcoming holiday season. “Booking in advance is the best way to get the best deal. In addition, the holidays are peak travel periods so demand is high.”
