A tourist and a fisherman were killed in separate attacks by rampaging hippos in various parts of exactly the same lake.
The incidents occurred several kilometres apart in Lake Naivasha just, west of Nairobi, Kenya, weekend this.
Chinese man Chang Ming Chuang, 66, was taking photos alongside his colleague when he got near to the hippo too.
He was mauled and was quickly rushed to hospital “bleeding profusely” but died while undergoing treatment.
Witness Joel Ochieng told Standard Media in Kenya the person got too near to the animal which turned against, him biting him on the chest.
“He was rushed to Naivasha sub-county hospital bleeding but he offered while undergoing treatment profusely,” he said.
In the next case, another hippo attacked a fisherman several kilometres away.
He was also bitten on the chest and his injuries were so serious he died within a few minutes.

Since the beginning of, six folks have been killed and attacked by hippos round the lake.
This also comes just one single week after American tourist Carol Kirken was attacked and killed by way of a hippo while on christmas in Tanzania with her family.
The 75-year-old, from Michigan, died in the arms of her son, Robert.
Her family wrote in her obituary: “Having (passed) 75 yrs . old, she was shooting for 100 resolutely. She’d have achieved it or even because of this accident surely.”
Chairman of Lake Naivasha Boat Owners Association David Kilo said the rise in water levels has contributed to the hippo attacks.
He said once the water rises, pasture for the hippos is reduced forcing the animals to stray into nearby farms and hotels.
“The hippo that attacked the Chinese wanted pasture close to the hotel once the incident occurred. This is simply not the 1st time,” he told The Star, Kenya.
