Highlights of the event include an exhibition of products from traditional pottery villages around Việt Nam like Phù Lãng (in the northern province of Bắc Ninh), Hương Canh (northern province of Vĩnh Phúc), Phước Tích (central city of Huế) or Bàu Trúc (southern province of Ninh Thuận).
Additionally, an installation art exhibition of pottery, art and fashion, as well as food and movie presentations are also featured. The event concludes on Tuesday.
Thanh Hà pottery village, 3km to the east of Hội An, is believed to have been established in the 16th century, when artisans from the central province of Thanh Hóa settled in Hội An. Locals have preserved their traditional methods of making pottery by hand and wheel for centuries. Their products are not enamelled and heated in a traditional wood kiln so they have different colours of yellow, red, red brick, brown, pink or black. — VNS
