Successful roadshow keeps Seychelles top of mind in Germany

The Seychelles Tourism office in Germany embarked on a three-day roadshow in the German cities of Cologne, Hamburg and Frankfurt.

With 41,740 visitors recorded between January to November 2022, Germany remains the second-best source market for Seychelles. The high demand for the island destination was reflected during the roadshow, which was held from November 29 to December 1, with all three events fully booked with travel agents. The majority were partners looking to reconnect and learn more about Seychelles, thus helping them better promote the destination.

The Tourism Seychelles team, comprising the Destination Marketing Executive, Mrs. Christina Cecile, and the Market Representative for Germany, Mr. Christian Zerbian, promoted Seychelles and its superb attributes to the participants of the event.

Every event started with a travel market giving the travel agents the opportunity for one-on-one talks with the representatives. In each city, the dinner event included a 10-minute slot for presentations per partner to showcase their product.

At the end of all events, there was a draw with packaged prizes such as an airline ticket, hotel accommodations sponsored by the hotel partners, and colorful prizes by Tourism Seychelles.

Seychelles lies northeast of Madagascar, an archipelago of 115 islands with roughly 98,000 citizens. Seychelles is a melting pot of many cultures which have commingled and coexisted since the first settlement of the islands in 1770. The three main inhabited islands are Mahé, Praslin and La Digue and the official languages are English, French and Seychellois Creole.
