At an average rate of $174 per night for its least expensive room, Deadwood, located in the South Dakotan Black Hills, ranks eighth priciest overall in the Midwest United States. A few dollars less expensive is neighboring Rapid City, just missing the survey’s Top 10 at a rate of $164 nightly.
Traverse City, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, sits on top of the rankings at an overnight rate of $221. Lake Geneva, WI and Marquette, MI complete the Top 3 podium at average nightly rates of $207 and $194, respectively.
The following table shows the 10 most expensive summer destinations in the Midwest. The prices shown reflect the average rate for each destination’s cheapest available double room for the time period spanning July 1st to August 30th, 2017.
