Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Høyre (H) donated NOK 22.7 million to Norway’s second electric ship fully, that will travel in Oslofjorden.
Support for building the “Legacy of the Fjords” sightseeing ferry is provided through Enova.From July next year reported NRK news the ship will sail on the Oslo fjord.
The ship shall save 700 tonnes of CO2 and 225.00 liters of diesel annually.
The prime minister released the news headlines regarding the the launch of Norway’s first fully-electric vessel,”Future of The Fjords” saturday morning on.The ship can be used for tourist traffic between Flågudvangen and m in Sogn og Fjordane.Solberg justified the support since it is essential that the Norwegian maritime sector becomes greener and results in less carbon footprint.
‘’Nærøyfjorden is really a world heritage site.The point that we pollute the fjord with tourist ships is neither oriented nor good toward the future” said Solberg to NTB news.
At once,it really is partly chance that the initial fully-electric ship in Norway is really a tourist boat.The reason being the cruise company,The Fjords, that is building the electric ships, had requested funds.
Solberg emphasised the company’s development is area of the future and will be utilized on all types of vessels.
