The US east coast Nepal Tourism Summit, wound up on a high note at its last event held in Boston, Massachusetts, last night at Hampshire House located in the heart of Boston’s famous Beacon Hill. This was the final round of east coast cities that began in Washington DC on July 6, followed by New York city on July 10.
Teaming up with eTurboNews (eTN) and the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) under the leadership of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) CEO Deepak Raj Joshi and the Nepal Ministry of Tourism, tour operators and tourism experts met with local travel agents, tour operators, and journalists to discuss how Nepal Tourism is back in full force.
This was followed by a Nepal presentation and reception. Travel agents in attendance earned the title of “Nepal expert” and will now be listed as such on the official Nepal Tourism Board’s website.
The highlight of the event was a reception followed by a big prize drawing. The lucky winner of the prize giveaway was Shiv Kapuria, Chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) New England Chapter. He won an all-expense-paid trip for 2 to Nepal. Turkish Airlines sponsored this event.
Hampshire House, the venue for this event, is a turn-of-the-century mansion on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill, where generations of Bostonians and their guests have wined, dined, and danced the night away. Winner of the prize drawing, Shiv Kapuria, said the mansion is one of the most desirable places to hold an event in the city. The five-story Georgian revival townhouse is lavished with Italian marble, carved oak paneling, crystal chandeliers, and tall Palladian windows.
Nepal’s first summit took place on the US west coast in Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, with the second summit in Europe in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
Destinations can team up with ICTP to have their own summit which is free to attend for travel agents, tour operators, and media. For more information, click here. http://ictp.travel/summit/
