BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Frankfurt’s party crowd descended on the city’s East End to celebrate the launch of the most disruptive, fun and stylish new hotel location, Moxy Frankfurt East. Inspired by the financial capital’s heritage, the night saw the Moxy Mob moving in under cover of darkness to play cops and robbers – giving permission to more than 300 fun-hunting guests and VIPs to ‘Play On’ #atthemoxy.
The access-all-areas opening event brought out the dynamic character of Frankfurt’s East End through a series of Moxy-mob inspired ‘playrooms’ where guests were encouraged to leave their inhibitions at the door and indulge their rebellious side. The wild and imaginative Moxy programming ranged from a top-secret immersive theatre experience by local act Reverso and Explora, to a celebrity scandal mug-shot room, and full-blown pillow fights. Additionally, local tattoo parlour Inktastic was on hand for guests wishing to show their ultimate dedication to the Moxy Mob.

Local DJ Alex Horn got the party started with his Elektro and Deep-house beats whilst headliner DJ Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor kept guests including Elliott Crawford and Carl Cunard dancing into the early hours. Local food truck purveyors Goose and Von Erdapfel kept partygoers fuelled throughout the night on specialities including sweet and savoury waffles with indulgent toppings such as truffle-pumpkin mash and peanut-butter-cheesecake cream, as well as BBQ pulled pork and ‘Bollywood’ home-made fries.
Drinks also had a local vibe with Appelwoi, a German cider, from Bembel with Care, and a mixologist from one of Frankfurt’s hippest bars, Kinly’s, on-hand for special requests.
The Moxy Frankfurt East opening party was also the occasion to present the winner of the latest edition of #BlankCanvas, the brand’s global initiative that calls on international emerging artists to submit works for the chance to feature their art at new Moxy hotels. The piece by winner Tobias Kremmel, alias Edward Langlais, took inspiration from the essence of Frankfurt East as well as the spirit of Moxy, with nods to apple wine; Goethe, the famous poet who significantly shaped Frankfurt and its society; and the sense of playfulness and fun.
