The Conference, set up in 2004, is an important platform for regional cooperation and communication approved by the State Council.
In March 2016, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation was officially included into the Outline of the 13th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development as a national strategy.
